the toner is not inserted properly and is not detected by the system .pls try to re insert the toner this time make sure that it is inserted properly and the motor winds it up then closer the cover and locks it.this will till the system that toner is loaded and is ready to print..

Also it seems the CD supplied drivers won't solve your problem. .... And NO WD-40 on plastics, better take silicone spray in a very light dose. ...

There are actually some certain meaning on the red light and green light showing different information to user. The summaries are:
1) Green On, Red Off = Printer Ready.
2) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Fast-Flashing = Printer warm up.
3) Green Fast-Flashing, Red Off = Printer off-line.
4) Green Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Processing Data.
5) Green Off, Red On = Cover Opened, Toner Empty or Developer Unit / Drum unit missing.
6) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
7) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.
8) Green Off, Red Off = Printer power is off.
9) Green Very-Slow-Flashing, Red Off = Printer in sleep mode.
10) Green (any condition above), Red Slow-Flashing = Toner low or paper empty.

So what is your printer condition? Better know what is going on your printer so can solve the problem

Well if you were using printing through usb? and now is damaged you have another options, print through network cable, or through parallel cable, and no if the usb port is damaged will not effect at all the network card or anything else.

When u found any extra black or white vertical line, we can check 3 possibility:
1) check the toner container. U may have to replace a new 1 if necessary.
2) clean the charger wire. Just slide the Charger Cleaner (green color) backward and forward 3-4 times to clean the charger wire, then return to its original position.
3) check the charger cleaner is it in its original position or not?

There are 2 possibility to cause your printer acting like this:
1) Green Off, Red Fast-Flashing = Paper Jam or waiting for jam reset.
2) Green Off, Red Slow-Flashing = Paper Empty or Paper tray is not inserted.

If it is condition 1) then just remove the jam paper then open and close the Top Cover to clear the error.
If it is condition 2) then insert some paper in the paper tray.

Generally this printer can be separate into 4 major part: Printer body, Toner container, Developer unit and Drum unit. The developer unit is the unit where the toner container "mount" on it and it should be removed to allow cleaning task every time the toner container is replaced.
U may get this error message if the developer unit is not install properly after u replace a new toner container. Just lift the developer unit together with the toner container out of the printer and then insert back properly into the machine.
