APC Back-UPS ES 350 - UPS ( external ) - 350 VA - UPS battery lead acid - 6 output connector(s) (NEWITEM13161548) UPS System Questions & Answers
Bought a BackUps ES 350
that is too small for PC.
well if power fails and batteries are now near dead
let them charge back up. or buy a real UPS.
a PC and need 150 watts to do graphic (with monitor more)
so 350watt and 300watt load is fail.
your battery has a short run time. super bad that.
to pick a UPS besides watts (1000w is best)
we ask 2 questions
1: how long does my towns power go out for, calif weeks, or in my town 30mins, in rolling blackouts, summer (HVAC caused)
or how long can you tolerate the lost of power ?
30minutes is a good starting point
the maker APC tells you what UPS fits that profile. for sure.
all UPS makers do every one.
or buy 2 UPS 500w one each for 2 PCs/
your UPS is toy grade,. cheap is almost never best.
do run times first. at at least 100watts per PC, if PC does graphic 3d , 100 is not enough unless you use GTX1650 card. GPU.
The GPU like that is 75watts alone see., NO PC told.
run time is very important.
and when power fails shut down the PC.s
if you must not , like POS sales use, then runtime is extremely important.
one more factor is if power fails all the time and long
that means small batteries go bad faster. lots faster
so the cure is larger batteries. 1000w UPS is what I think you need
no PC told at all. unless is two 25 watt laptops,???????
Why no OMNIVS1500XL power?
you have 3 output connectors connected to battery back up ( there is output when input power fails
other 3 sockets are connected to main power / when main power off , no output on the mentioned connctors
How can you tell if the system is bad on apc back ups es 650
plug something (other then a computer)into it, turn the gadget on, then unplug the UPS. If the gadget continues active the UPS is OK. Generally after you have punched every button (circuit breakers). After that put a Volt/Ohm meter on the batteries (and the charging wires to check the charging curcuit is OK.
What if I don't replace the battery? What happens?
Hello,
Have you ever let AA batteries sit inside of your tv remote control and forget about changing them... then find out that you really need that remote but when you go to replace the batteries you find a mess because the batteries were wayyyyy past their life cycle?? That's pretty much the same thing that's going to happen except on a bigger scale. I can't answer this question and say that nothing bad will happen (sometimes a bad battery with a lot of current provided to it will get so hot that it will explode!) but more than likely -- no. These units are designed as an offline UPS (you can read more here:
http://psihq.com/products/ups-systems/) so there will not be steady current going through the battery all of the time.
My sincere advice - if you're done with the UPS then unplug it from the wall and recycle the battery; then you can store your UPS for later use. Remember, it's against the law to throw batteries away, you must recycle them! Well... in the States anyway.
If you would like pricing on a new UPS, we can offer pricing better than any big box store (walmart, bestbuy, etc...). Contact me whenever & in whichever way is easiest for you:

HOW DO I KEEP MY MINUTE MAN BACKUP TO STOP BEEPING?
If you connect it up to a Windows computer with the supplied (goofy-looking) USB cable and install the APC Monitor progam "Powerchute" available on the APC web site, you can set all the activity levels and tell it just when to beep the beeper, or turn it off completely. I have two of these in my house, and have set them to never beep. The cable is goofy because it is USB on one end and a network-type on the other end.
Software Firmware
Beeping and flashing
I dropped mine and the hot wire plus side came loose inside,,,,i replaced the wire and its ok now...as for the unit its junk,,,I bought a new battery a year ago ,,,when I should have bought a new unit
