HELP PITCO FLAMES OUT BLOWS OUT PILOT LIGHT CAN WORK FOR 3 OR 4 TIMES SHUTS DOWN NICELY THEN WOOF SMALL BLOW BACK CAUSEING PILOT TO BLOW OUT THEN HAVE TO WAIT 10MINS TO RELIGHT

This is caused by a pressure problem. There should be an adjustment screw on the gas valve regulator. Also, make sure the pilot orifice has been removed and cleaned. There is also an adjustment screw on the gas valve for the flow of gas to the pilot.

Pico fryer not operating at full preformance>

Hi there. Check the gas pressure; low gas pressure results in low oil recovery.Check also the fire tubes for soot build up, clean as needed. The quantity and quality of product should also be considered, overloaded and/ or frozen product reduces the oil recovery. Regards.

Pitco 35C+ fryer. Pilot lights fine; main burner

Its a simple design. If the thermophile does the work of powering the fryer control. Do you have a good pilot flame? If the pilot flame ain't good enough then the millivolts won't be enough to operate the solenoid on the gas valve. Most folks replace both the pilot and thermophile on these fryers since the grease makes such a mess of everything. If the pilot generator is fine then the gas valve is next. My pilot is on and burning but my main burner

Hello there:- Before you condame the main gas valve ( the combination valve ) You should check out four things. Firstly after you light the pilot remember to turn the dial to ON on the gas valve. Secondly check the thermostate by passing the terminals . Thirdly check the pilot flame is it strong and blue in colour. fourthly check the thermopile (if you don't have a meter to check it ) or change it and keep the old one in case it is still good. It should comes on if not then you can say the main gas valve is defective. Hope this can help. Good Day and God Bless.

Fryer was working before being cleaned but a cook

Hopefully it has kicked out on high limit thermostat. It depends a lot ofn what type of control you have on your fryer. If they are all mechanical controls, the high limit may need to be reset. Open the front door of the fryer. There are two thermostat bulbs in the fryer. One goes to the thermostat with the temperature dial, the other to the high limit thermostat. Hopefully the high limit thermostat that you have will have a small red button sticking out. Push that button in and then relight the pilot as you would normally do. If your high limit thermostat does not have a red button it is an automatic reset high limit. When the fryer pot cools below 300 degrees it should reset itself. If you have electronic computer controls on your fryer you will have to reprogram your thermostat settings.

Hello I have a Pitco Frialator 35CD Deep Fryer and

Assuming that the pilot is lit, when you turn the thermostat from off to the operating temperature, you should hear a click at some point. If you do not, the thermostat is defective. You can also double check this by detaching one of the two wires going to the thermostat and measuring for continuity between the two terminals. At off it should show no continuity. At 200F or above it should show continuity. This is the most common problem.

If the pilot will not stay lit or if it goes out when you increase the thermostat setting, it is usually a defective or weak thermopile (or thermocouple), or a defective gas valve. If replacing the gas valve, I recommend replacing the thermocouple or thermopile at the same time.

Restate your problem if the pilot won't stay lit or if it goes out when you turn the thermostat up.

I cant find the way on how to light uo the friar.

If you have a pitco 35 fryer, all you need to do is have gas connected and turned on, rotate the know on the gas valve to the pilot position, depress the knob, while holding the knob down light the pilot, normally located in between the burner tubes in the middle of the front of the fryer, hold the knob for 60 seconds, when you release the pilot should remain on. If it does rotate the pilot know to the "on" position, from this point the thermostat should control the fryer. If your pilot does not stat lit, press the red button on the hi-limit to reset it, it could be tripped and this would cause the pilot to not hold. Hope this is helpful.

Pilot shutting off once temp reached

Hello. It is hard to say exactly what is going on, but here it goes. First, are you sure it is getting to temp? use a thermometer. if so, then, you could have a weak hi limit, tripping at 350 or 375, instead of 450. Do you have to reset it? or let it cool down? or does it light right back up. If not, then you probably have a weak thermopile, not producing the correct millivoltage ( less than half of a AAA battery ), it normally is 450 to 750 millivolts. You can test this with a multimeter, one side to the thick copper wire coming from the pilot, and the other at one of the hi-limit wires, DC voltage please. Grease could be on/in any of the aforementioned components, causing a poor connection, with less than half an AAA battery, it does not take much to cause a problem. A dirty pilot, or low gas pressure could also cause a problem.

Hope that helped, and thank you.

Pitco frialator does not stay alight

You may have gotten water in the gas inlets. You can dry it out quicker by placing a hair dryer in the pilot area and gas valves. Disconnect the gas line first of course. Do this for about 30-45 minutes and it should be O.K. Let me know how that does.

Pitco fryer pilot out

if you changed the thermopile and still have the same problem make sure that the sensing bulb is directly over the flame. If it is and the thermopile is installed correctly the next thing would be the gas valve.

Hope this helps

No heat

1st I would check any safety switches it may have such as oil drain valve switch controlled by the oil drain valve. If it has an exhaust blower, it may have to get up to a certain speed before the flame will come on. This would be a vacuum type switch. If it has a pilot light that burns all the time, it probably has a thermocouple which the pilot light heeps hot. This could also be the problem and need replaced. If there is no resturant equipment service tech in your area, A air cond tech would be your best bet for troubleshooting it. Good luck.

Pitco fryer showing heat failure even when the pilot light is on?

Question moved from Misc HEAT FAILURE - This means the heating system has failed to respond, which can occur because a high temperature limit switch has been tripped and needs resetting. On gas deep fryers, "HEAT FAILURE" may display if the pilot fails to light or if the pilot flame is too weak as detected by the ignition module.

Pitco Frialator deep fryer boils over randomly. Is the high limit sensor or the thermostat the problem?

Trade Chef here. Dirty oil. Wet food. Adding too much at one time. Thermostat problems would burn food. Use a good quality thermometer IN the oil against what the dial says.
