Cant access info tool bar grayed out
I saw this same problem on a client's computer. BelgianAlien's analysis was correct... problem was an advertisement. Thing was, we couldn't *see* the advertisement because the window wasn't maximixed. Note that you only get those ads *after* you log into your company file though! Aha! So, what I did was click cancel when it would request the password for the company file. Without that, it can't log into the company file (and pop up the ad) and then QB prompts you for where to find the company file. You can maximize the window now, log in, kill the advertisement, and go about your business.

Is there a way to import an excel spreadsheet into
You can save the file as a csv (comma seperated values) which will lose all the formatting in the excel sheet and save only the single worksheet. You should then be able to open this in quickbooks.

1)I can not install my update of Quickbooks Pro
Assuming you have the install files for QB 2005, reinstall it with the original parameters and then un-install it. The missing file is stopping the un-install, and assuming that you cannot edit the uninstall parameters, about the only way to actually uninstall is to make sure the 2005 install is complete before you unload it.

I am using Quickbooks 2002
That is an "Old QB Software version" installed in to a "Newer Version of Windows" issue.
QB 2002 most likely works best with Win 98 or 2000.
For your best functioning on your PC, I would ONLY do QuickBooks entries when your PC has just been freshly turned on and no other programs have been running first. Also "Pause" or temporarily "Exit" any background running software like Win Defender and/or any Anti-virus programs. Call QuickBooks and ask them how you could go about Up Grading your QB version to a more Windows compatible version without having to purchase EACH version to "UPDATE" your pre-existing database/files so they are not lost or dysfunctional. They once sent me disks to jump 2 versions and they charged me less than 50 bucks but that was a few years back. Good Luck!

Cannot reinstall Quick Books on a new computer
If this is a new system, running Vista, there is your issue. 2005 was not designed yo operate on that system. You would need to have a later version of the program, such as 2009 to have Vista compatability.

I cannot install quickbook 2005
2005 was not designed to work on Vista. Vista was barely even on the drawing boards in 2005 ( and the 2005 version was programmed in 2003/2004). The file structures for XP and Vista are very different and 2005 is not compatable.

Quickbooks & flashplayer 7
When you say rebuilt and got rid of the virus, was that a system restore?
Often the viruses do an extensive amount of damage in certain areas, and unfortunatley, QuickBooks and it's dependent files are often trashed to the point of not working correctly.
My best suggestion would be to backup any data you want to save to a cd or dvd, then run a FULL system restore. This wipes the hard drive, and resets it to the specs from the factory. Then reinstall your programs and allow them to update.
It is a pain, but it is often the only way to fully recover from a virus.

When i insert quickbooks cd and click install it says error need to install flash 7 macromedia.
Depending on the version of QuickBooks you are installing, it may require the flash player for some of it's help functions. Typically, the flash player the program requires is included on the cd.
There can be instances where you already have a later version, but the program is not reognizing it. This may indicate that the Flash registry entries are not in the Windows registry properly, and the Macromedia Flash needs to be reinstalled.
If you have already installed the program once, and the Flash installed, you may get an error message about needing to install, or that it cannot install the files named ************. In this case, you may try ignoring through the message.
If worst comes to worst, explore the cd, copy the Qbooks folder to your desktop. Inside the folder, you will find the Install file and the installation should go through.

I am using windows vista. now i want to install
You probably don't need to install version 7, i'd try installing the latest version instead.
There might also be a install patch on the intuit website or some kind of workaround.
If not it might just be easier to buy a new copy.

I have a company in
Good morning, my name is Karin.
To solve this, first be sure that you don't have the Cap lock on and retry the ID and password.
If that isn't the problem and you still can't open the file, QuickBooks offers a password reset at their website if you have a current backup. The page walks you through the process step by step. You will need to have your license number and also you need to verify that your contact information is on file with them.
Here is the link for the 2005 and earlier password removal:
https://dataservices.intuit.com/qbpassrm2/qb_automation.htm
Hopefully you have a current backup of the company - that is what they will use to remove the password.

QuekBooksPro 2005
If you had a power outage, or quickbooks locked up, you will get that notice. The good thing about Quickbooks is that is save on each saved transaction. For example you have entered payments and invoices, you are in the middle of entering a bill when the computer shuts down. The only thing that would not be in you file is the bill that you were entering but hadn't saved. If you continue to get this message, let me know and we will trouble shoot it further

Can't open company file after upgrade
This is not a quickfix, but I had the same problem going from QB Enterprise 2005 to 2009. I found someone who had 2008 and he restored my 2005 QBB successfully - it prompted him for a password. He then made a backup as a 2008 QBB which I restored on my 2009 - it prompted for a password as well. Hope this helps.
