Intuit QuickBooks: Pro 2005 for PC - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Unable to retrieve company file after closing it
You probably opened an old file. You will need to find the current file that you were using. Use the search and search for all files ending in .QBW
Check the dates they were last used (you don't want the one with the most current date since that was the old file that was opened.)

Getting error codes 7065 and
Step 1: Download and install the QuickBooks Tool Hub
The QuickBooks Tool Hub helps fix common errors. For the best experience, we recommend using Tool Hub on Windows 10, 64-bit.
Close QuickBooks.
We recommend you download the most recent version (1.4.0.0) of the QuickBooks Tool Hub. Save the file somewhere you can easily find it (like your Downloads folder or your Windows desktop). Note: If you've already installed Tool Hub before, you can find out which version you have. Select the Home tab. The version will be displayed on the bottom right or you can select About to view the version.
Open the file you downloaded (QuickBooksToolHub.exe).
Follow the on-screen steps to install and agree to the terms and conditions.
When the install finishes, double-click the icon on your Windows desktop to open the tool hub.
I hope these steps will be helpful!

You can find the repair feature in the control panel add/remove programs window.
Open your control panel, click on add/remove programs, scroll down to QuickBooks and click remove (it won't you will be prompted to either repair or remove). Have you disk handy in case it prompts you for it.

Quickbooks pro 2005 error 7168
Usually a license number, product code error. Often seen on pirated software, but can also come from a damaged install.
Be careful, trying to reinstall an older version like this can result in the product going back to an old release, and the update files are no longer available.

Can't install quickbooks 2005 on windows 8
Correct. That version was made well before Win xp. It does not understand the folder arrangements for Win 7 or 8. You would need a newer version.
