Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 - Page 5 - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

The Galaxy Tab 2's software is not perfect and I have seen several reports it may hang up itself to the point where it does not respond to the power button anymore. Unfortunately, it does not provide a forced shutdown.

However you can do the following:
1. Plug in the charger and connect it to the table.
2. Press *and hold* the power button for roughly 15 seconds. This will cause a hard reset, and the machine will reboot. Release the button when it does.
3. After the "Charging Battery" screen is displayed, you may remove the charger and the tablet will power down.

Fix Driver Solution In Windows-Start-Control-Panel-Device Manager then search through the list for the element of distress. If it's Audio, it is in the Sound-Video-Game Controllers whereby left clicking on that section will open up a window indicating your electronic devices. A video Camera-Sound Source may show up and if you Right Click on that line you get a message Update Software? You will get another option the Search On-Line Note-you must have internet access for this feature- and say yes, and allow a search to ensue. If you have the Best Driver installed a message stating so will appear- if not you will get an updated driver and it will be installed for you automatically. The other method is to go to the Manufactures Web Site and Support area. Input the necessary data re Model, etc. and look for Drivers. Update ALL new drivers at the same time and install them accordingly.

Make certain you have permission to connect. You may show a signal; but unless you are allowed to connect from the device to the wireless site; noting will happen. Make certain the system BIOs and Connecting software are up-to-date.

The power cell should only get warm if you have it powered on all of the time. That is natural. 6 hours is short, and that may be one of two problems, the time of charge is too short, or the battery is dying. HINT! If you replace with a NEW battery; you must set the battery memory for the start. That means, when you first charge it, make certain it gets a long 24 hour charge to full. Use the phone until the device shuts down because the battery was exhausted. Now Do a full long term Charge. That process will set a Memory for the Power Cell and allow you to fully charge and discharge the battery from there on. One more thing...if you use a Charger Device, make certain it is working OK or else the Battery will not charge well.

Wait till the device runs out of battery (or pull out the battery) then try to reboot.
