HelloPress RADIO BAND.AUTO PRESET until the band you want appears in the display (direct power on). Each time you press this button, the indication changes as "FM" --> "AM". Hold down TUNE + or --, until the frequency digit begins to change in the display. The player automatically scans the radio frequencies and stops when it finds a clear station. If you can't tuned in a station, press the button repeatedly to change the frequency step by step. Can't see why not.If its like a kettle lead and unplugs from the back just replace it with one that has the same amp fuse in it.They can be picked up very cheaply.Maybe its just the fuse gone on the original?if so just replace it very cheaply.

When's the last time you cleaned the heads AND capstan? (Google it) Look at the edges of your tapes. Any irregularities will show up as warble or dropouts on the left channel. Also treat and store the tapes like you want them to last forever. It's pretty much covered on the cardboard insert that comes with a blank tape.

Your laser head has probably gotten weak, or the spindle motor is worn. You can probably replace either yourself if you're VERY mechanically inclined, otherwise I would leave that up to a shop.
