Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-S60 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Sony dsc-s90
Many digital cameras have a 2nd disposable battery to remember settings like date and time, and where to put the pictures, when the rechargeable battery is removed,, but I don't believe that is the case with your camera.
possibly you are not actually getting the time set correctly, since
the camera will continue to ask for time & date setting every time the camera starts, if it is not set properly when it asks. Concerning internal memory- Can you transfer the images from internal memory to the memory sick when you do insert it, or is there a chance that the memory stick is defective, and therefore the camera doesn't record to it?
I possess a Sony DSC-S60.
Your pictures are corrupted.You can
recover pictures from memory card with this
1. Do not save any new photos into the memory card of your camera.
2. Insert the memory card into a card reader. Connect it with computer. You should see memory card shown as a drive letter (like H:) in My Computer.
3. Download recovery software, recommended one is Tenorshare Data Recovery (simply because i was using it and it worked)
http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm4. Install and open the program, select your memory drive, and click 'Start' button to start scanning process which will find your currupted pictures.
Lens are stuck open on cybershot S90.
i would suggest you to contact any expert or SONY SERVICE CENTER because according to the problem you describe is technically difficult and due to jurk the gears of the zoom lens assembly may be broken misaligned, and there is a specific method to open the zoom lens assembly to change the gears, Or the if you want to repair it by yourself then you have to replace the complete lens block assembly, Therefore i would advise you to contact any expert for repair,

Cant upload pics from sony
The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.
Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.
Lenswon,tretract
Good day,
This tip will explain a few methods on how to try and fix your lens if it is stuck or you get a lens error on your screen.
Please
note that all these methods are used at the users own risk and that I
can not be held responsible for any damages or losses that occur while
trying these methods.
1. If your camera is still under warranty, send your camera to the manufacturer to be replaced or fixed professionally.
2. If your camera is out of warranty try these methods.
- Make sure your batteries are fully charged.
- Remove the batteries for 10min. Replace the batteries and see if the problem persists.
- Try compressed air. This method can be useful if there
are any sand or any other object stuck in the lens motors. Use
compressed air with a fine tip. Direct the air between the camera body
and lens and move in a circular motion around the lens to complete a
full rotation.
- You can also try to tap the padded USB cover firmly on a
flat surface like a table. This is sometimes a surprisingly effective
method.
- The last method is to try and force the lens. Turn of
your camera and place it on its back on a flat surface. Look at the
spacing between the lens and the body and see if the gap is consistent
all the way around the lens. If the gap is not even it is likely that
the camera fell while the lens was extended. Now VERY GENTLY push down on the lens were the gap is the biggest until you her a "click". This will indicate that the lens is back in place. Try powering back on.
- If the lens does not extend or it extend and retracts
turn of the camera. Hold the camera in your one hand and with the other
hand turn the one part of the lens in a circular motion. Rotate both
sections of the lens until you hear a "click". This will indicate that the lens popped back in place. Power the camera back on.
- The last method you can use is to turn the lens while powering on the camera until you hear a "click". Power the camera of and back on to see if it works.
If
any of the methods listed above failed to work for your lens problem it
would be wise to take it on to a professional to get your camera
repaired.
Thanks for taking the time to read my tip and feel free to let me know if it was of any help.

Camera will not flash
If the Forced flash setting is already enabled and the flash is still not working, then the issue may be due to another camera setting. Even if the Forced flash setting is enabled, the flash will still not work in the following circumstances:
When shooting MPEG movies
When shooting in the Twilight or Handheld Twilight mode
If shooting with the Burst or Multi Burst mode
Shooting with Sweep Panorama
Shooting with the Fireworks or High Sensitivity mode.
If an external flash is connected.
Please make sure that the Camera is not set to any of these modes. You can check the manual to get the information to change the setting..
If the issue persists, please reset the Camera and make sure that battery is fully charged.
If the issue persists after performing all the above mentioned troubleshooting steps, service is required.
If you feel that the above Troubleshooting steps, helped you. please rate my answer positively.

Factory advice is use fresh battery or AC adaptor to turn camera on and off to get lens to retract, but in all likelyhood, your camera needs repair.
How do I delete pictures from the memory
Before
you delete them I highly recommend saving another copy of the
downloaded files by saving on a dvd usb, or an external hard disk. You
never know when the computer may crash or the files accidentally
deleted.
The images on the card can be completely deleted by clicking the format card
command. You will be asked if you are sure and that all the files will
be deleted you click ok or delete. Inside the camera the format card
command can be accessed from one of the menu settings (same place you
set the date and language. Of course you can also delete individual
photos, for example after shooting a bad shot, by pressing the delete
button (it looks like a bucket).
You can also format the card
without the camera using a card reader. Attach it to the computer by USB
and go to My Computer where the card will appear as D: or E:
.Right-click there and you will see the format command. Or simply open
the files select and delete.

When I turn camera on, the display shows the word
Hello
The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the
probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use
these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,
try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the
shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens ,
and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then
try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently
pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may
cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another
way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and
then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to
not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and
down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the
camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your
camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of
your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair centre for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to
replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest
you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any
off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about
warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope
the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need
any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you
found this helpful.
