when i turn on my camera, i see a bright white screen, the lens still opens, i can still take pictures and view on computer, but NOTHING is on my screen. i tried playing with buttons over and over, i hear beeps, like its going through all the menus, but i still cant see anyything, from what i can tell everything else seems to be working. help!
If the LCD is all white when this occurs it is the LCD that is at fault. Verify this by shooting a couple photos, if the photos look good when viewed on a computer, the CCD is not at fault. The LCD module has had problems with the harness that connects it rubbing againts the metal frame of the camera and causing similar problems. Hope this helps you. Joe Weibel customelectronics.org

my cybershot camera has no display on lcd screen only display white screen what could be the cause of this?
I fixed the camera myself as follows:
1. Hold camera firmly in left hand
2. Smartly rap front of camera with knuckles of right hand on the "Cyber-shot" logo.
It worked, now the LCD is working again for free.

I turned my camera on and the screen is bright white! I can still view my pics on the comp. but how do I get the screen back. Please help.
I have been facing the same problem for the last two years and I press the camera by thumb and it works. I know whether the problem is. I received a detailed solution for this. To apply the the solution one has to open the camera. But I had never opened the camera. I have posted detailed about the solution regarding this under 'Blank screen' in this forum. If anybody interested to see whether exactly the problem is, send me an email.

on my sony cybershot, the camera's LCD does not work. When I turn it on, all that appears on the screen is a white image, and can't not see any of the pictures I have taken. I can only take pictures and see them on the computer, but not on the LCD, Again all I see is a White Image on the LCD screen. Please Help, Jay
Hitting the Cyber Shot logo on the front really works - ye legends!!!

Memory Stick error c:13:01
My old 512 MB memory stick is working fine. However, recently I brought a 2 GB memory stick and when I put it inside, the camera (Sony DSC S40 cyber shot) shows:
MEMORY STICK ERROR C:13:01
Please help.
Is your new 2GB memory stick is original from Sony or after market? some of them will not detect in CAM because the contact on MS were not touched iside the slot of CAM
Reinsert your 512 MB MS if it work fine then change your 2MB MS
Good luck
