I cant get my pc to see my sony when I plug it in

If your computer is not recognizing this camera, then you may need some drivers to install on your computer. If any CD came with the camera, put that in your computer. If not, then go to this website and look for the drivers that match your operating system.

My camera will not turn

Try to power it using battery and then, DC source. If its not powering, check battery contacts and clean them. If you have a volt measure unit, measure the volts from the DC source and compare the results with the values from the DC unit, also measure the battery and see its status. If you cant solve it in theis basic way, try to go to a professional repair center for a detailed analyzis. Cheers

Hello Kyra

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance. Also, please be so kind to let me know if you found this helpful.

Andrea

My camera takes 2mb per picture.

Hi there,

That't is normal, try lowering the your camera resolution and it would lower down the size. I just hope your are not yet on the lowest resolution.

Camera powers up but lens cover fails to open

It could be some grit or sand causing the lens cover to not open, so the camera won't initialize. Try cutting a slip of paper narrow enough to slide between the lens opening frame and the lens cover. Move it in and out to clear any grit that might cause the spring-loaded cover to bind. Good luck !

Batery problem

This usually occurs when the camera is exposed to water, sweat, high humidity or if you had leaky alkaline batteries. You have 2 choices to try. 1 take the camera apart and use an old toothbrush with WD40 and scrub the circiut board, you can inspect the battery compartment to see if you have corrosion from leaky batteries and do the above to fix. 2 use the camera as is and remove the batteries after each use.
