Panasonic D-Snap SV-AS3 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
Connected through a 4-port USB hub
Use of a USB hub for connection does not guarantee normal operation. Try attaching the USB cable directly from the D-snap SD Camera to one of the built-in USB ports on the PC.
Connect the camera to PC
Make sure both the Battery Pack and AC Adapter are connected to the D-snap SD Camera when connected to a compatible PC.
USB cable
No. Connect the USB cable after the USB driver is installed.
Serial number
The required serial number for SD-Jukebox installation is located on the paper insert inside the CD-ROM casing. The serial number is 10 or 11 digits long depending on the model. Without the serial number, the Jukebox software cannot be installed on a compatible PC.
Software - USB driver
Windows® 98SE, Windows® ME, Windows® 2000 Professional, Windows® XP Home Edition/Professional.
SD Memory Card
The data on the SD Memory Card can be broken up into five separate folders (where applicable):
[DCIM]: The images in this folder (e.g. IMGA0001.JPG) are recorded in the JPEG format.
[MISC]: Files in which DPOF Data has been set to the image are in this folder. Slide show data created by SD-MovieStage Ver. 2.5 are also stored in this folder (e.g. AUTPLY0.MRK).
[SD_AUDIO]: Stores music data files (e.g. AOB001.SA1) recorded by the SD-Jukebox Ver.4.
[SD_VIDEO]: MPEG4 moving pictures are recorded in ASF format (e.g. MOL001.ASF). It can be played back with Windows Media Player 6.4 or later.
[SD_VOICE]: Folder in which voice data files (e.g. MOB001.VM1) are stored.
Format the SD Memory Card
Formatting erases all the data recorded on the SD Memory Card. If an SD Memory Card becomes unreadable, formatting may make it reusable.
MPEG4, MPEG2 - Windows Media Player
MPEG4 motion video can be played back with Windows Media Player 6.4 or later. MPEG2 cannot be played back in Windows Media Player. Files created with our D-snap Video Cameras are designed for playback with the included MediaStage software and our DMR-E100H DVD Recorders.
Video and still image - MPEG4, MPEG2
MPEG4 motion video can be played back with Windows Media Player 6.4 or later. MPEG2 cannot be played back in Windows Media Player. Files created with our D-snap Video Cameras are designed for playback with the included MediaStage software and our DMR-E100H DVD Recorders.
Video and still image - SD Memory Cards
To achieve MPEG2 video performance, large amounts of data must be written to the SD Memory Card in real time. The read and write speed of the SD Memory Card may differ from manufacturer to manufacturer, so we recommend using Panasonic SD Memory Cards with the high-speed transmission rate of 10MB per second (SD Memory Cards that are 256MB* or higher have a transmission rate of 10MB per second).
FINE Mode recording (High image quality 704 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 256MB* or higher.
NORM Mode recording (Normal image quality 352 x 480 pixels) recording requires an SD Memory Card that is 32MB* or higher.
*Usable capacity will be less.
The use of SD Memory Cards other than the ones mentioned above may result in the following error message: [This card cannot record in MPEG2 mode.]
Video and still image - difference between MPEG2 and MPEG4
MPEG2 video is DVD-quality video comparable to digital camcorders. The picture data is transferred at a rate of about 30 frames per second, for a beautiful, smooth motion image. It will show up on your SD Memory Card as ".MOD" or ".MOI".
MPEG4 video is suitable for use in a compatible PC, viewing on a TV, posting on Web pages or attaching to e-mail. It is inferior to MPEG2 in smoothness because the number of the frames transferred in MPEG4 is less than that in MPEG2. However, MPEG4 has a higher transfer rate, and a much smaller file size, than MPEG2. It will show up on your SD Memory Card as ".ASF", which stands for Advance Systems Format files.
Video and still image - MPEG
MPEG stands for Moving Picture Experts Group. It is the name of the standard for the compression and extension of a digital motion image and sound, enacted by ITU-TS (International Telecommunications Union-Telecommunication Standardization Sector) and ISO (International Standardization Organization).

Hello and Welcome to FixYa!
There is a Lock switch on the left side of the SD card. Make sure the Lock switch is slid up (unlock position). You will not be able to modify or delete the contents on the memory card if it is locked.
You can see the snap attached below;
If the lock switch is not on lock;
- Slide the switch up and down. Repeat this 3 times.
- Let it stay on the Lock position for 30 seconds.
- Slide the switch up to unlock the card.
- Try to transfer files into the device.
If none of the above works, then you card in either damaged (Format it) or is Password protected.
If you think I was of help, your token of appreciation in the form of rating and a testimonial will be esteemed.
