What does "filing photos from camera" mean? Please explain how your attempting to transfer the photos from the camera to the optical drive. Have you tried copying the photos to your hard drive 1st. then try to burn them to the optical disk?

You may have accidentally pressed a certain combination of keys at the same time. Try a few of these suggestions to see if one 'unscrambles' your keyboard: ctrl+shift+num lock key fn+ num lock ctrl + shift If this helps anyone at all, please post back with your laptop make and model and which combo helped you!

If the burner is a combo burner it can do both it will tell you on the face of the burner. If this is not the case it will just burn what it is meant for. You cannot do both if it is not a combo burner. One or the other combo both. You will also need burning software as well. It sounds to me like the GPU overheated.

First will you go in desktop here my computer icon right click on it and go to manage here will u go system and then will u go where cd/dvd icon and click right on it and disible it and restart your computer. It will work.

Go to any small (or large) computer-store, and ask for an 80-pin IDE cable. Probably not more than $5.

Or, try a local "thrift store", and browse through their "electronics" stuff.

Or, find a computer "hoarder" -- they will have piles of cables, to give away.

As I understand the problem, the computer won't boot up completely, right? If that's happening, then the problem has something to do with the operating system itself.

The only thing that I could think of to resolve this problem is for you to reformat the computer. Make sure that you have the necessary drivers for your components like video card, sound card, DVD player, etc.

If you're not sure about the drivers that you have, you may contact the computer manufacturer for second opinion.

A possible problem could be the charger port on the actual motherboard. I would recommend finding some one to take a look and replace the charger port.

use a cleaning CD, it should solve the problem. If you hear noises but the reading is normal with no brakes, that is not a problem, it`s normal .

If your cursor is present, you screen is "on". I'm assuming that you have a version of Windows. Most likely, something is not loading properly. Load your computer in to safe mode by starting it and pressing F8 a lot. A menu will appear, select Safe Mode. If you computer boots correctly and everything works, you need to update your video drivers. If not, take your computer in to a shop for repair or ask an expert friend, as there are too many steps to explain over the internet. I hope this helps!

Take a paper clip unfold it and you can manually eject what you have in there by inserting it into the tiny hole by the eject button...I won't solve the problem but if your favorite cd/dvd is stuck...that will get it out.
