Installation of XP hung up and will not complete - system down
Well it sounds like you have a dirty cd or a bad cd.
Turn the cd upside down and look at it usually when you get the hang it means that the eye stopped moving from either somthing on the cd so clean the cd then try.
If it still doesn't work then see if there is a deep scratch on the cd.
But my bet would be is the cd needs to be cleaned
IBM 600X I Have 189 problem i dont know what to do? please help me!!!! please
Sounds like you have a virus from a popup on the internet. You will need some antivirus, antimalware, and antispyware software. Get Malwarebytes, and Superantispyware. Both are free online. Update your anti virus software, unless it is too late. Start the unit in safe mode (press f8 when first booted) and run those programs. Remove all threats. This will take hours, if you can fix it at all. Geek squad time.
Will not go past 19990305
That error code generally means there is no boot device present.... make sure there is no USB or CD present in the system, just in case it is set to boot to those first.
HOW TO RESET PASSWORD
Best bet is to ask her!Lost Windows password:
- Login as Administrator. Try with no password (load safe mode if you don't see Administrator). Press F8 during boot to access Safe Mode. XP only.
- Login as other user (if other user is available) and manage users. Must be an administrator.
- Reformat computer.
- Use 3rd party software to remove password. Like http://www.top-password.com/reset-windows-password.html
- Free software option would be Hirens Boot CD. This one is command prompt only. http://www.hirensbootcd.org/ Must follow instructions exactly.

Password lockout
Hi Howie,Absolutely you can install Windows 7 without the password. What you're going to need to do is get a copy of the Windows 7 install CD. Put that in your CD/DVD Drive and then restart you're computer. While you're computer is turning on, press F12 to access the boot menu. Select the CD/DVD drive, and then you should see a message saying "press any key continue...". Press any key on the keyboard. You can then follow the on-screen instruction to reinstall Windows from scratch! If you need any more assistance, please feel free to ask.Alex
