I have a frymaster sr14esd, it turns on and makes noise but does not heat up. Is it my thermostat?

If the unit seems to be powering up and making noise, then you have power and it doesn't sound like a tripped breaker. About the only noise I would expect would be the element heating up and maybe the oil popping unless there is a fan. What kind of noise is it making? IF you have the equipment & know how, you could confirm power to the heating element or check the load the item is placing on the electrical service. One way to check the thermostat is you can turn the Tstat all the way down, turn on the power and see if you can hear the power engage as you slowly bring the temp setting up.

My penny broaster smells like burn plastic

Check the wires at all connections for burnt insulation. This could be where your smell is coming from. Also make sure something is not burning the well if it is plastic.

Anyone know if covers exist for Dean Frymaster deep-fat fryers? I have three in a mobile unit and want to be able to move the trailer without draining the oil.

Hi there! For open fryers, oil will still spill even with cover during transit because open fryer cover is not designed to contain/ hold oil inside the fry pot to prevent the spill, it is only designed to prevent foreign objects from falling inside the fry pot when not in use, draining the fry pot before moving the trailer from one location to another is only the best solution.Regards.

My fryer heat up to 285 then quit then try to

sounds like the high limit is doing what it is suppose to do. Check the actual temperature of grease with a perometer and see if it matches temp on computer if it is more than 10 degrees off or fluxuates irraticly change the temp probe. If it is dead on change the high limit.

The pilot is on but the switch won't turn the

I can tell you from my own experience with fryers, that they take quite some time to heat up....before lighting.... The probe takes some time to get hot, before it will kick on and light. You normally have to hold the light button on for some time, before the manual fryers will light. I have helped many a customer who cannot seem to get their manual gas fryers to light, and normally it's because they don't hold the light button down long enough. The sensor in there takes alittle time to heat up and it tells the fryer it's time to light. I think people get alittle scaried with gas and just don't hold it down long enough. Try holding that button in longer first, then light it... It should work. If not, call us and we'll try to walk you through it.... Wont start up pilot is lit and thats all it will

Here are some pointers:
Check first if the unit receive standard gas pressure required on the nameplate.
Ensure that the thermopile is free of soot or any form of dirt.
Pilot flame quality must be good so that it can properly heat up the thermopile.
Gas valve knob must be turned to "ON" position after the pilot is lit.
Thermostat set at temperature higher than present oil temperature.
Wires are all tightly connected on terminals.

Regards.

Honeywell propane relay won't start

For the pilot you have to hold the red button down for about a minute or two while it is lit, then turning it to on. If you tried this and it still wont stay lit then you can try replacing the thermocouple. For the relay the best way to tell is take voltage reading to see if the coil is getting voltage across it.relays are usually inexpensive, and easy to install.Just be sure to turn the power off befor touching the wires, and mark them so you know which wire goes to what terminal.

SR24

It could be a faulty high limit, you can also check the high limit probe to insure it is mounted securely against the through tube wall in the grease. Also check the burner, there are baffles that run through it and when they get old the flames don't move though the burner correctly and will cause the high limit to trip prematurely
