It's probably actually a BIOS password. This can sometimes be removed quite easily by removing the dime-sized silver battery for the CMOS. For further information, check out this document.

You should angle the screen towards the light to see if you have a faint image on it. If so, the problem is more than likely a failed inverter, or CCFL lamp on the LCD itself. Either in which would have to be replaced. The CCFL lamp unfoutunatly part of the LCD it self and cannot be replaced seperate the screen. The inverter can be replaced easy as it it right under the screen. Symtoms of a failing CCFL could be the white comes out as red on the screen for the 1st 10 sec or so of startup. This will put alot of stress on the inverter causing the inverter to overheat and shut off. I have one to where the CCFL failed and am trying to find a replacement.

I just bought one of these used, It had a fresh intall of windows XP tablet. When I got it the touch screen would not work. I have tried dowloading the drivers. I download Motion dashboard for this model. When I open it is says" Dashboard can not be run on this computer" I dont know what to do??

First be sure that you are running windows XP tablet edition, then download the drivers from motion computing. This is the link:

If you are running windows XP regular not Tablet PC edition it is not going to work, toush pad and buttons only work on tablet edition.
