I had huge issues with my TM-U220. It does not play well with a Centronix-to-USB cable or with Windows 64-bit. I played for AGES to try and get it all to work. I installed the USB device driver[1] I was able to print the Test Page proving that the connection between Windows and the printer sort of worked, but when I tried printing anything from Unicenta POS, it always failed. I finally bought a new Centronix-to-USB and a new parallel port card, used Windows 32-bit, and problem solved. may you put the paper in wrong order just turn the paper up side down and then check if ok nothing to do if not u have problem with thermal head or head alingment

Hi Ali The problem by doing this is that not all Parallel to USB cables work right out of the box with your equipment. What you need to do first is make sure that your computer sees the device through the cable. Then when it prompts you for the drivers for the printer install the driver set (parallel) the connection should not matter at this point. However the step of the computer detecting the device first is very important. I hope this helped. Philipp

Are you printing from inside a java program (output) or from a java program editor. Use the command to Open an output file, have all your output sent to the output file, close the output file properly before you exit the java program. After you finish send the output file to the matrix printer as you would with ASCII file. If the printer is installed properly, your OS should know where to send the output.

As long as the ends (connections) of the cable are in good condition and only the cable was cut; I would solder the wires to the corresponding colored wires to one another and insulate the soldered joints to prevent them from shorting out. If you have what is called Shrink tubing (From Radio Shack) slip a small piece over the wire prior to soldering the two ends. After the two wires are joined; slip the wrap over the joint and heat with a hot iron or hair dryer. The wrap shrinks around the soldered joint and insulates it from the other wires. Do that for all wires to be joined together. When done the bundle if wires may be bulky, but they will get the job done. Lastly surround the wires with electrical tape to keep them all together.

Hi!Are you using a third party USB adapter or a USB interface? On the self test page that you printed does it say USB connection or something that will say about USB? or does it say parallel or serial connection? try to check the dip switches setting if its configured properly. visit epsonexperts.com site for more info.
