Monitor has ac power but screen is blackout

Computer black screen of death is usually related to hardware or driver. It is typically caused by software errors in device drivers: in Windows systems by poorly written device drive , It also be caused by physical hardware faults, such as faulty RAM memory or power supplies, overheating of components, or hardware which is run beyond its specification limits . On the other hand, registry damage, corrupted program and viruses are the major causes of computer black screen, too. According to the issue you've got, the following tips may be available to you.1.An efficiency troubleshooting step on hardware is to start your computer with the minimum hardware necessary to run the operating system. If your computer starts successfully it proves that one of the removed hardware devices was the cause of the STOP message. Otherwise move to the next solution.2.Boot your computer in Safe Mode by pressing F8 at startup. Then go to My Computer and right-click on Disk C to select Properties from the dropdown menu. From the Tools tab, perform an error check and disk cleaning. 3.If the about two solutions doesn't work, the last one I can suggest to you is to create a bootable disk. It is the most quick and effective way for you to solve the problem. You just need to download a software can be used to burn your CD/usb into a bootable one and then boot your computer from it. Run the software to fix the issue after that. There are few free software for you to use, so if you want to take this solution money is indispensable. Windows Boot Genius owns a better cost/performance among such kinds of software I've used. It may be a good choice for you if you have money to pay.By the way, reinstall your operating system can also help you out if nothing important stores in it.source:http://www.reset-password.net/black-screen-of-death-and-blue-screen-of-death.html

My internet stops responding and it dont work well slow is not the word i would use try fix it as well as anything else i can think of any other help would be great

It could be a case of that you have an add-on that is not up to date try updating all your add-ons by clicking tools at the top of your internet explorer and select add-ons it will load with a list of add-ons attached to your internet explorer and should show you all the add-ons that are out of date, If you update all your add-ons and I.E is still running very slow then try to upgrade the I.E you are using for EG : If you are running I.E 8 upgrade it to I.E 9 ( Please note that I.E 9 is for Windows Vista up). If all this fails try using the chkdsk feature that comes built-in to all windows. To do this is easy I will tell you how in case you do not know.1. Open up your start bar or Start orb.2. Scroll up to programs3. Left Click Accessories.4. left click dos shell.5. Type cd\ ( Please note this will take the directory base level or C:\ )6. Type chkdsk /f and press enter.7. You are now checking your Hard Drive and Windows Registry for problems and telling it to automatically fix them.8. You will get so far in to the test and it will report that it could not complete as windows is being used and will ask if you wish to run this test when your computer restarts type y for yes and press enter and the dos shell should close by itself if it does not close simply click the x in the corner of dos shell window and restart your computer.9. This will intiate a blue screen similar to a setup screen and if it finds any problems it will fix them for you and generate a report on what it has found and fixed, Your computer will continue to start up as usual from there and hopefully this has solved your problem. If not please refer to your computers manufacturer for further technical assistance. I hope this helps.

Deleted D drive i guess have D drive

Your 48x CD-RW drive should be your D: Drive unless you somehow changed the drive letter or the drive died. You may need to buy a new CD/DVD drive.

This unit needs replaced it has seen better days sorry. The only thing you can try is shut off all power to the PC then unplug the PC and that cd drive from the rear of it. let the PC boot all the way up so you see your desk top. Shut it all the way down un plug PC hook back up the wires on the back of the CD player let it boot back up see if this stops it.Remember to rate my solution this is how i earn my achievements also testimonial Thanks much in advance.

Upgrade windows 2000 to xp

My first question would be where you got your copy of XP? If it is a bootleg copy from someone else (that has all ready registered it) you could have a problem. The next question would be why to XP, instead of Vista or Seven? If you have a real copy then it is pretty straight forward. Book from the disk and follow the setup wizard. I would recommend that you save your important files, folders and photos. Also write down all your visited sites and passwords.

Dvd r/rw drive

You can open it with a paper clip through the tiny hole in the front panel. Insert the paper clip and push, the drive drawer will come out. As far as fixing goes these drives are so cheap they are considered throw away.

Can a SATA CD-RW drive

Not without adding a SATA drive controller card to the computer. If you can afford it, hang on to the SATA unit, as your next computer will definitely use it, and buy another PATA drive for this computer.

My dell is running slow

You hit the nail on the head , upgrading your Ram is the first plan of attack, even though you have very little in start up folder there are still other startup programs using vital memory.
try to crease your disk cache, and run MSconfig to find startup items soaking up Memory reserves
