Windows Xp won't start

The most common reason a computer won't start can be a piece of hardware has failed or is causing a problem but that hardware isn't usually a hard drive, the part of your computer that stores all of your files. To fix such kinds of issue, you can take the following steps.1.create a bootable usb or cd ,there are kinds of software for you to complete this step, you can choose Fix Boot,EasyBootDisk or Windows Boot Genius. I suggest you to useWindows Boot Genius, it is easier and more effective.2.boot your computer from the created disk3.fix the issue after run the softwareBy the way, before any further steps you should make sure the power supply is good. Any hardware issues such as pc power and cable, motherboard corrupted should be troubleshooted.I don't suggest you to try the solution above until you are sure there is nothing to do with the hardware. source:http://windows-8-password-recovery.com/computer-wont-boot.html

I increased memory from 512 to 768 on Dell desktop

That minimal amount of increase is not going to be a very noticeable increase also the processor or a faster RPM hard drive is more for the speed. you can go to the system properties in control panel and then the advanced tab and then the settings tab on performance then to the Advanced Tab then to change tab in virtual memory then to custom size make the initial setting 1.5 times the amount of memory installed in your case 768 x 1.5 = 1152
on the max 3 x the amount of memory again, in you case 768
768 x 3 = 2304

After a virus infected my Dell dimension 2350 (XP), I replaced the hard drive with one running Windows 7. After increasing my RAM, I still have some serious resolution problems on my Samsung 172N moni

Hey Tim,.Once you installed Windows 7 onto the hard drive you would need to have installed the drivers. The one driver that is needed for resolution is the video card. You can right click on the desktop and then choose screen ressolution to see if you can change the resolution. Unfortunately, Dell does not have any Windows 7 drivers for the Dimension 2350 system.Thank You,Dell-Jesse LDell Social Media and Communities

How to install 1GB upgrade for Dell 2400 series

The ram you will need if you want to upgrade to 1GB is DDR400 (better known as PC 3200U (400MHZ BUS speed)), if you already have it, be aware that static is a very dangerous thng to microchips as it causes them to fail, so plug the PC in and leave the switches turned OFF, this will ground the case, open the panel with care and make sure you touch the chassis regularly and DO NOT work on a carpet for obvious reasons, there will be two white clips on the sides of the module(s) already in the system, push the tabs back to release the module, remember to handle the memory from the top and don't touch the contacts, take the new module, line it up with the notch in the middle of the socket and the RAM, and lightly push it in until the white tabs lock into place, then close everything up, power it up and run MEMTEST86 and Prime95 to make sure the system is stable with the new RAM and that it will not cut out or blue screen.

Have a used dell dimension 2400, hard drive died i replaced it, but i dont have the original os disc that came with the system, can i use my copy of vista, or find another copy

If your Dell computer had Vista installed then you can use your copy of Vista CD and you can use the product installation code that is printed on the Windows label that is attached to your Dell. When you insert the Windows CD into your Dell and boot up your computer then select the CD as the boot device (ie 4=IDE CD).After Windows is installed and activated then you need to install the Dell computer's device drivers. You can download the device drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: - http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen

Fix 3 beeps on a laptop and can not start up

3 beeps keyboarddesktop or laptop ? Keyboard is not connected properly. Stuck key Bad keyboard Bad PS/2 or AT port Solution Keyboard is not connected properly Verify that the keyboard is connected properly to the computer by turning off your computer and then disconnecting and reconnecting the keyboard to the computer. Stuck key Ensure that there are no stuck keys on the keyboard. If all keys appear to be ok and you have a standard desktop computer with keyboard, turn the keyboard over and gently hit the back of the keyboard to loosen any dirt or hair that may be stuck in the keyboard. Bad keyboard Try another keyboard on the computer to verify that the keyboard has not gone bad. Bad PS/2 or AT port If all of the above solutions are not able to resolve your issue it is likely that the port on the back of the computer may be bad and the motherboard or I/O board may need to be replaced. b>

My computer screen keeps jumping, what can I do?

Change your computer display settings: try a lower resolution first like 800 X 600 then gradually increase it until your monitor 'complains' (eg. is not stable and jumps around or cannot display anything properly). You could also fine tune your video card display 'frequency' if it has been set higher than 50 or 60 htz as your momitor may not be able to handle anything higher.

When i play my game i cant see the whole screen how do i fix it?

If you are playing pogo games ? Pogo.com is an online gaming website where you can play well-known games such as Monopoly, Battleship and Scrabble -- along with scores of other board, word, puzzle and arcade games -- in a Web browser window. The games on Pogo are programmed using Adobe Flash, and are viewed in a small box inside the browser. If your computer has a large display, you may find the games difficult to see because of the of the game box. Although you cannot independently adjust the of the Pogo game box, there are several tricks that you can use to make games appear larger on your screen. Magnify the browser window. In Internet Explorer 9, click the gear-shaped button in the upper-right corner of the screen, and click "Zoom" and "Zoom In." Browse in full screen mode. In Internet Explorer 9, press the "F11" key to enter this mode, and press "F11" again to leave it. Lower the screen resolution. In Windows 7, minimize the browser, right-click the desktop and select "Screen Resolution." Click the drop-down menu next to "Resolution," and select a lower resolution than the one currently displayed. Because a lower resolution uses less pixels to display the information on the screen, this has the effect of making the Pogo game box larger. Remember to change the resolution back when you are done playing. Disable the address and status bars in Internet Explorer 9 if a portion of the game window is cut off. Click the gear-shaped button, and then click "Internet Options." Click the "Security" tab, then click the "Custom Level" button. Click the "Enable" radio button next to "Allow websites to open windows without address or status bars," then click "OK" twice. Close and re-open your Pogo game window. Press the "F4" key. Some Pogo games enter full-screen mode when this key is pressed, but many do not. Hope this helps. b>

Screen just shows blue

This error might occur after installing a faulty device driver, system service, or firmware. So ask yourself, Have I installed any new devices lately? disable, remove, or roll back the driver to correct the problem. Try to disable or remove the drivers and see if this resolves the issues. If it does, contact the manufacturer about a possible update. Sometimes manufacturers know about issues and make fixes.Hope this helps.
