Admiral AW22 Top Load Washer - Page 4 Questions & Answers
Just purchased a new Admiral Clothes washer. When
Could you check and see if both the hot and cold hoses hooked to the back of the machine are actually putting out hot and cold water? If they are, it may be time to return the washer to where you bought it and get another. Be blessed.
Hot water connected but does not fill into the
Turn off the
water valves which supply the water to washer hoses. Switch the hot and cold water supply hoses
and tighten. Turn the water valves back on and try to run a wash cycle using
cold. If hot water only is entering the wash tub the water supply is ok. If
this is the case you can unplug the washer and turn off the water valves. Remove
the washer back cover and follow the water connection for the hot water. The
water solenoid valve will have two electrical wires connected
to it. Interchange the hot water solenoid wires with the cold water solenoid connection.
Connect the water supply hoses hot to hot and cold to cold then plug the unit then
test the washer on the cold wash. If the problem persists it could be a water
hose restriction or the timer circuit could be defective. If you have hot water
at the normal pressure purchase a new hot water solenoid valve. With the electrical cord unplugged be sure to
restore the correct wire connections on the hot and cold water solenoid. To
replace the hot water solenoid remove the hose clamp and hose to replace the
old valve. Connect the unit to the water and electrical outlet. Turn on the
water and test the unit for leaks being careful not to touch any electrical and
moving parts. If all checks ok and the correct temperature work, unplug the unit
and reassemble.
NOISE AT RINSE CYCLE START
If sounds like a bumping in the water hoses, it could be water hammer from the pipes in your house not having a volume chamber to absorb the hammering when the water cuts on and off during the rinse cycle.
Will not agitate
check the module that controls the agitation of the motor. It is found in the control panel and if it fails the motor has no agitation action. have a washing machine check it out.

Just want to know the age of my Admiral model #
I bought mine in the Fall of 2007, new from Lowes. I don't know if that helps you any, but mine is a little over 5 years. Exact same model # as yours. I'm trying to find a new Lint Trap online.-Clinton
Admiral washer begins leaking water from the bottom during the spin cycle
It is so common that the drain leaks in many ways and
is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is
important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the
identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has
leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the
underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here.
In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the
house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside.
Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged or the drain hose clamps can be loose
on the grip which can all cause the leak to occur. Removing and cleaning the
drain pump/valve, tightening of the hose is also very important. Also water can
leak if there are gaps on the front door gaskets and must be checked but this
will happen only during the cycle and not on the drain cycle end.

Washer must be out of balance
The legs on the washer are adjustable, the rear legs are often ( not always ) self adjusting, make sure the legs are not stuck and that they can move freely. But the front legs can screw in and out to move the washer depending on the floor the washer is sitting on. Make sure the washer is as low to the floor as possible. When the legs are screwed out too far the washer becomes wobbly. Often on the metal style legs there are lock nuts that can be tightened to secure the legs so they don't move on you. washers where really meant to sit on a cement floor, if your washer is on a wooden floor look carefully at the strength of the floor. If the floor is moving up and down when the washer is running, the floor may not be strong enough to support the washers weight. Most main floor laundry rooms floors are nailed down, the sub-floor is more secure if the sub-floor has been screwed down. Sometimes extra support may have to be added under the flooring to add some strength
Why does cold water mix with the hot when the switch is set on hot
Depending on the age of the unit you may be looking at a faulty switch. Sometimes the contacts for the cold water solonoid on the switch may be fused shut and therefore you will always get cold water no mater what you select. If hot water is what you need the easy way to do this is select hot water and close the tap for the cold water until needed again.
Hope this helps
Avv8000agw slow spin and smelly
First of all check if the motor is hot or there is friction on the drive. Since you had noticed some smell then the best option is to trace the smell which must confirm the case. It could be the motor or possible capacitor or within the power supply or drive output.
