My sister has the casio LK 30 for her special

If it's blown a regulator in the keyboard you may be lucky that that's all that's gone.... If unlucky it could have rippled through & taken out a lot of the electronics. (aka a right off) A decent repair shop should be able to take a look & give you a price to sort it.....

Casio lk-33 does not work with external power

I once had this problem with another Casio synth.I hadn't the power adapter ant I tried with an other one, with the same specifications : the synth was apparently powered but it didn't work.I finally understood that it was a problem of polarity (+/-). You may just have to cut the cable and resold it inverted.Hope it could help!

Casio WK 1600 : Sustained keys

Remove all power sources for at least 2 minutes. That means removing the batteries and power cord completely from the K board. Then try again. If that doesn't do it, it'll be time for a service visit...accordianman

Casio 1600 sustain pedal problem

Not if its like mine, its a completecircuit vs.incomplete circuit problems.

I had the exact same problem with my Casio keyboard and a Yamaha sustain pedal I bought.

I'm not an electrical genius, but I was able to get it to work by opening it up and doing a little modification. Of course I first just tried switching the white wire with the black one but that didn't change anything at all when I tried it. It turns out the Casio wants the circuit completed to sustain, and broken for no sustain, which is the opposite of what the Yamaha pedal does.

I opened it up and mine had three three flat metal strips let's call them Top, Middle and Bottom. The Middle and Bottom ones were joined together on the right side, and the Middle and Top ones were touching on the left side when the pedal was not pressed. These seperated when the pedal was pressed, thereby breaking the circuit because the wires were on the top plate and on the joined Middle/Bottom plate.

So to flip it I:
1. Unsoldered the Bottom wire
2. Cut apart the Bottom and Middle plates on the right.
3. Bent the Middle plate on the right to touch the Top plate instead and soldered those together.
4. Soldered the Bottom wire back on.

That's it! Once I figured it out, it took only a few minutes to fix.
Good luck!

Sir, This jack installs on most Casio keyboards to replace broken ones-a common problem. Often the broken jacks have the center connection pin ripped out or loose when the power cord cable has been pulled with a vacuum cleaner or yanked by a pet or child.

A technician is recommended to replace this part on your Casio instrument.

Thanks Good luck

No owners instruction book for LK-33 Casio portable lighted keybo

I was also looking for the manual on-line which an e-bay seller told me was available. Not from Casio, but someone was nice enough to scan in a manual at http://www.usersmanualguide.com/casio/musical_instruments/lk-30. It is in PDF format, so you will need to download it and view it with Acrobat reader or similar. Not the greatest quality as it is just a copy, but certainly readable.
