"wrong cartridge" message appears, new

It could be due to "waste tank full" alarm; you may need to reset the waste tank counter.
I found a reset sequence for a MP730 printer in this website that works for F30 and F50 as well. Try:
Resetting the Waste Ink Volume Counter

1) Enter SERVICE MODE.---
By pressing Menu-Copy-#

2) Select TEST MODE.
3) Select [8] PRINTER TEST in TEST MODE.
4) Select 3. [EEPROM CLEAR].
5) Select 0. [INK COUNT].
6) Press the [OK] key.
7) Press the [Stop/Reset] key (returning to the state of 3)), and then press the [ON/OFF] key.

Skip step (6) since there is no [OK] key on F30 or F50 printers.

Wrong Cartridge Error

Check to see if the installed cartridge is the correct one for the printer. If the cartridge is the proper part number, remove the ink cartridge and make sure all the packaging tape has been removed from the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again.

If the error continues, remove the cartridge again and clean the copper circuitry strip on the backside of the cartridge, and the contacts inside the printer, by following the instructions below:

1. Use a clean, dry, soft, lint-free cloth. Locate the copper-colored circuitry strip on the back of the cartridge.

2. Wipe the copper-colored strip with the dry cloth. Use an upward motion, from the nozzle end to the top of the cartridge. Do not wipe the nozzle end of the cartridge or touch the nozzle plate. Wipe the contacts only once.

3. To clean the printer contacts, carefully look for fibers or contamination on the electrical contacts inside the carriage assembly, but do not wipe the printer contacts with any object. The contacts in the printer can be damaged if too much pressure is applied during a wiping process. Try to remove any visible attached debris within the carriage assembly by gently pulling the debris off with your fingers. If the carriage contacts show noticeable damage, contact the Customer Care Center listed in the printer's User's Guide. Reinsert the cartridge and try printing again. If the error continues, the cartridge may need to be replaced.

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.Thanks.Have a good day

Wrong cartrege and i got the original replacement

Hi there maximum time we found it is a the head problem. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. For resolve the problem please follow these.

Open the printer and wait for the carriage to slide over. Some how if its not come then Unplug the printer & Manually slide the carriage. Now Remove the ink cartridges from the print head & Use wet warm cotton swab or use alcohol to thoroughly clean the print head. Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab. After finished it make the head dry then fix it back. Now Try to print something now
If that does not work then follow the next step.

Remove the printer data cable & restart the PC & printer. Then fit back the data cable & turn on the printer. Hope that's start working , if no luck then Uninstall the printer driver & restart the PC & Printer both again. Now install the driver of the printer and connect it with PC ,Turn on printer & go for a test print from the printer preference. Thanks & waiting for your reply.

1. Two black lines on

the vertical lines on the page are usually done by toner being present on the rollers ..Clean the rollers and also reset or change if is the case the waste ink absorber..In short...it is a case of stray in in the paper contact area..and you need to clean all things that get in contact with the paper...and the fact that they are vertical leads to the fact that it is something related with the rollers..in the top feeder ..

Bad print quality. I

This issues looking printer head problem. check the following Steps for cleaning printer head :

Click on the Start button if you have Windows XP. If you have Windows Vista, click the Windows icon that resides in the lower left corner of your computer screen.

Click on "Control Panel," then "Printers and Other Hardware." Finally click on "View Installed Printers or Fax Printers."

Right-click on the name of your printer and choose "Printing Preferences." This should open a new window; next look for a tab or button marked Maintenance, or something similar.

Find the button that says "Print heads" or "Clean the Print heads" and click on it. You may be asked to choose which print heads; choose them all if you are. Make sure there is paper and ink in your printer, and that it is turned on ahead of time.

Take out the page your printer has printed and see if there are any grids or boxes missing. If there aren't, then you can just exit the program--your print heads are not clogged. If there are grids missing, then click on the "Cleaning" or similarly worded button.

Once the cleaning process has completed, print another page to be sure that your print heads are no longer clogged. If they are still clogged, repeat Steps 1-5 until your printer is printing clearly.

My Canon MP730 printer will not print in black

You could clean the black ink cartridge. For this you need to remove the black ink cartridge which is present in the printer. In order to clean the laser or scanner block you could use a cotton swab as it would fully clean the dirt. You need to clean the grime and the dried ink present in the printer. This would remove all the hindrances which prevent the ink from flowing. Cleaning the printer heads would also help to solve the problem.

Wrong cartridge is appearing on

If the message appears even with new cartridges it means that either the connection between the smart chip on the cartridges and the printer's processor is not functioning properly or the processor itself is faulty. This connection passes thru 4 mechanical connectors: cartridges - print head and printhead - carrier thru pin array, carrier - data cable and data cable - mainboard thru ribbon cable connector.
To find out which you must clean and check all the connectors. The first 2 are easy - just remove the cartridges and the print head and clean them: the contact plate with a rubber eraser, the pin array with a q-tip soaked in rubbing alcohol. For the second 2 you will have to dismantle the printer and access the carrier, take out the ribbon cable out at both ends, inspect it for breaks, clean the contacts with a rubber and reattach it firmly. If after all of that you still get the error then the processor is faulty and the printer is dead - replacing the processor would cost more than a new one.

What do I do when my printer says "WRONG

This could result from dirty electronic panel. But if the printer is printing in spite of the message, you may continue to use your ikn until the cartridge becomes empty. However you could manually clean the electronic panel of the cartridges and the area where they make contact inside the printer. Use folded tissue soaked in a bit of methylated spirit.

Good luck and Gos bless!
