Hi, Go to the BenQ website and download the newest updated software for the scanner. This will fix the problems. Good luck.

Try to Update your driver may it will work for you here arethe easiest step for updating the drivers:

Connect your device to the PC using data Cable (USB cable)
Now On Desktop of you PC
Right click on My computer icon and select Properties
Click on Device Manager
(Or follow Start button --> Control Panel --> Device Manager)

Now search for your hardware whom you want to update.
Right click on it and click on Update Driver Software...

It will ask for CD or DVD then insert the driver CD/DVD if you don't have thenit will ask for searching the drivers over internet click Yes for it and itwill automatically download the drivers for you.

Or you can use Third party software which can search,Download and Update them for you without making much effort..

1° If this suddenly happend without having made any previous changes or downloads or up dates , delete and reinstall driver . Otherwise , restore your system to an earlier date when your scanner was still running smoothly . If the issue persists , your device is good for the trash bin .
2 ° If you have updated your OS , the driver is no more compatible with the new OS and you' re back to sentence 1°

You can download and install Kaspersky Internet Security 2011(KIS 2011). Activate the trial version and update the virus database. Scan the computer for viruses. It will remove any malware (viruses, spyware, adware etc.) and speed up your computer.
You can use trial version of KIS 2011 for a month. After that you can register it if you like it, or uninstall it. KIS provides many tools for safer computing.

BenQ apparently never updated drivers for this hardware to work un a Windows 7 environment. I do not have this scanner myself, but I did come accross a site that indicated many were having luck with a driver found there. I was unable to test it as I lack the hardware. probably the driver you installed is not supported by your OS. find the appropriate driver from the manufacture website. Hope it will work.
