Zannusi Dryer TDS383W element gets Hot (glows)then cuts out after few seconds then if I wait for couple minutes and reset the clock to any set time the element glows hot again until inbuilt thermostats 'click' again cutting out the element,this process is continuous with or without the lid and ducting in place.

The top and back panels have to come off. The belt taken off and the bowl removed from the machine. Lie the machine on its front. You can then see where the felts go. Some of them are held in with steel spring clips, early models are glued in onto the lip that supports the drum.

I have had the same problem in the past, one thing you can check is the drum. See if it has any play by opening the door and see if you can push it up. it could be the felt strip is worn down or the rollers if it has any or the main bearing in the back. It is posible that is is one of the three things I said because they all cause noise. check it out i hope it helps you.

Open the door and pull out the filter from the door frame,
No need to wash it only brush it and it enough

Sounds like your Idler bracket or shaft.

Sounds like grease from a bearing or similar, probably time for a new one.

check the spindle on the rear of drum. its positioned in the centre of drum

There is a video here on how to replace a belt on a dryer. I have done this before and most dryers are the same. You have to take them apart. It is not a real easy job. Hope this helps. I would suggest checking and probly replacing especially if you cant hear the timer motor.
