Machine won't restart after reset, 'start/pause' button flashing.

Hello,

When you put it to drain/spin does the pump make any attempt to drain,if not it could be that there is something stuck in the pump,needs draining manually.Another thing to try is to find the fault code.If you hold down the 2 buttons on the far right of panel then press on/off button till lights start chasing,then release the 2 buttons on right hand side.Now the first function button by the on/off button you will need to press until the light above the button reaches the 9th or 10th position this will give you a read out in the display.
E10 = low water press.
E20 = pump or filter.
E30 = press. switch or heater faults.
E40 = Door swich.
E50 = motor.
Some of these numbers can vary there are more but those are the most common.After checking codes switch off machine then back on twice to reset.

Hope this helps.

Start/Pause light flashing but machine won't start

Unplug machine and wait a few minutes and replug it in again! This usually resets the computer on the washer but be prepared if it happens on a regular basis you may need to call a qualified repairman that can troubleshoot the problem!

I have a hoover hsw2125m washer dryer. the powder is not emptying from the drawer but i dont know how to check for blockages?

A lot of times the hose gets just clogged. What you do is get a tea pot, and boil some water. Then carefully pore some hot water slowly down the drawer, little by little until it breaks up the soap to unclog it. Another affective way is buy a can of air in a can. Compressed air in a can is used for many uses, such as cleaning a key board or lightly blowing out electronics, can get it at almost anywhere they sell computers. Then you do small burst of air in the detergent drawer. However I would try the hot water first, and save some hot water for a cup of tea as your patience of having it work. Thanks Mike

Zanussi fle 1416w wont fully drain the water out

Hi.

Check for drain blockage, check position of the drain hose and check the pressure switch.

1) Access the drain filter and look for drain blockage. With Zanussi front loaders this located in front at the bottom right hand corner, there is an access door in there.Open the door, unscrew the cap and use a container to collect the water. Disconnect power before starting maintenance.

2) Check the position of the drain hose. Make sure that the height of the hose elbow is as specified in the manual or you get siphoning (water getting back from drain hose inside the tub) and drain does not end.

3)The machine has a pressure switch. It is a sensor connected to a long thin rubber hose. The pressure switch is located in control assembly. Clean pressure hose and switch. One way to test the pressure switch is by blowing into the switch, but manufacturers say this must not be done as you can damage a good switch.
The pressure switch is difficult to test in full. Testing is done either reading voltages while machine is cycling or reading Ohms at the switch with tub empty and full. For safety reasons I suggest users to avoid performing tests or maintenance that must be done with power on.

Here a page about drain/spin problem.

Start checking drain hose and drain filter.

Regards.

Washing has marks on it,

I'm sorry to say that this is potentially very bad news. The problem you describe is almost certainly because the main bearing on the drum is worn out, allowing the inner drum to "flop about". Grease from the bearing and rust that has formed as a result of water tight seals for the bearing breaking down causing the bearing components to rust is probably what you are seeing on your washing.

To test your bearings, open the door of the machine and by putting a little lifting pressure on the top of the inner drum, attempt to rock the stainless steel inner drum up and down.

The outer drum is mounted on springs and shock absorbers, so it will rock about (and it should do this) but the inner drum should not move up and down in relation to the outer drum. There should be ABSOLUTELY NO PLAY between the 2 drums, even the tiniest amount will mean the bearings have failed.

If the bearings are bad enough then other symptoms will typically include:

A clonking noise as you lift and release the inner drum (this is the inner drum rattling on its bearings and/or hitting the outer drum)

You will have become aware of the spin cycle becoming far noisier recently and possibly even a grinding crunching noise when the machine spins.

The drum may feel like something is crunching or stopping you turning it when you spin it by hand with the door open.

A leak from under the machine, which you will probably be able to trace to the back of the machine, coming from the centre of the drum. This is a result of the failing bearing allowing water to escape through the seal at the rear.

This is NOT a job for the uninitiated DIY enthusiast as it will mean stripping the machine and removing the drum from the chassis, splitting it, removing pressed in bearings and then sourcing and re-fitting new bearings.

To be frank, the cost of a bearing set (if they are replaceable, and most are) will be about £20 ($30) or so. But it's a long and horrible job if you haven't done it before. I know professionals who claim they can do a bearing change in under an hour, I've done a few and it takes me about 2 hours by the time I've ripped the machine apart and reassembled it after the bearing swap. A local repairer will probably attend and swap out your defective drum for a refurbished one and then take yours away so he can refurbish it and put it back in his stock. Sadly, this will take the price up to the point where you need to question if the expense is worth it or do you get a new machine instead.

Zanussi FLE1416W Front Load Washer noise

Open the filter door located at the right bottom of the front panel and place a container underneath to catch any spillage. If the filter is blocked and the machine is unable to drain you will need to drain the water manually from the machine. Remove the drain hose from the standpipe or sink and hold the end of the hose over a basin or bucket on the floor. The water should drain by gravity into the bowl. Position the basin/bucket as low as possible to extract as much water. Unscrew the filter knob counterclockwise and remove it when the water is fully drained.

Reach in the filter cavity with your finger and locate the pump impeller. It is where the noise is likely coming from. Something is caught in the impeller or the impeller itself is broken.

Zanussi FLE 1416 error code

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

These 3 flashing lights indicate a fault in its pressure system. Unplug the machine and take the top off. There will be 2 pressure switches, circular devices with a thin tube attached to them. Take the tubes off, block one with your thumb and blow as hard as you can down the other. Refit the tubes. Give the pressure switches a couple of good taps with your screwdriver handle in case they are stuck. Check the wiring to the pressure switches, pull the plugs out and fit them in again. If the problem is still there then it seems that the door lock is bad and needs replacement, however you can test it before replacing. If it tests fine then check the pump motor assembly. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

Kevin

Softner will not run, have descaled & cleaned

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I hope you don't mind me saying so but often the softener dispensing siphon tube gets missed when cleaning the dispenser 'cos it's difficult to see!----------->
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this isn't the problem it could be that the water dispensing is not working correctly. It is easy to check by selecting (final?) rinse, pulling the drawer slightly out and seeing and hearing whether water is being fed into the softener tray. If is isn't then it is a call-out ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Sorry but it sounds that you will need to call out a repair person ;-0(

The start / pause button will not work ...all

Make sure that the front door is locked or that the door switch is contacting to give the feedback signal to the main circuit board. This is a safety feature of the washer because unless the front switch works - door shut-the washer will not work - no action on start/pause.
Replace if the switch is faulty.

I've set the program. The machine starts and

I have had a similar problem for many years. It appears at random and seems to go away if you leave it for a while (anything up to 24 hours). I have taken the machine apart and have failed to find any physical reason (blocked pipe, jammed pump etc.). However, patience prevails. Even if you try to start the programme loads of times it seems to make no difference. I've not yet found a fix and the machine is really good when it is working so I have learned to live with it. If anyone has a fix I'd be interested.

Check drain hose has not dropped down. that the height of the waste pipe is at least 50 cm high and the waste hose has not been pushed a long way down the stand pipe. all these things can cause the machine to syphon out all the water it has taken in. it more **** to happen on delicate programs with higher water level the beeping would happen after 5mins. comment back if this not the case
