To be honest, i wouldnt. Firstly you must be running Windows 7 or 8 first, if you are going to do an upgrade (free) and even the you will need at least 8 gig of ram to run it properly as well as a decent hard drive and with all the hassles with W10 at the moment, i would wait. As for your laptop, its reasonably old and i would say, no dont do it. You dont have to, but Microsoft is pushing it on people worldwide, even though it still has some bad issues. Stay with your Vista or Windows 7. Vista is old and decrepit, but it still goes at least.

Orange indication means that the wifi is off or disabled. This will occur if: 1. You manually disable the wifi driver 2. You disable the wifi using the keyboard function key 3. You plug the PC into a wired network connection. Check the keyboard hotkey for wifi and cycle it to see if for some reason the wifi was accidentally disconnected. If that is not the case, check the device manager to see of the wireless network driver is installed and working properly.

If you have a wireless connection to the wireless router is it assigning IP addresses. How many devices do you have connected already? Maybe you have reached a limit and need to assign more IP's. Is your wireless router secure?(use of password) Check and see how many devices are connected to it. You do this from your desktop as long as it is connected to the wireless router via cable. make sure wireless adaptor is on( done through control panel) or external air card is connected. scan for networks. Select your network log on w your password. May have to disable wired settings.
