The frige works fine, but the freezer has stopped

This is a common problem when the compressor is beginning to go out.
The freon high side tube from the compressor runs between the doors on its way to the
Evaporator (cold coils)
When every thing is normal the line is suppose to reduce the amt of moisture at the doors
but when the freon is restricted (whether in the condensor or capillary tube) its not normal
any more. It begins to build up high head pressure thus the extra heat between the doors.
The most common cause of this high head pressure is restricted flow of the freon thus causing the compressor
to pump against the restriction thus building up high heat.
The most common cause of restriction is caused by the insulation on the motor wire windings inside the compressor breaking off and traveling with the freon to the capillary tube
(very small opening) and restricting the flow thus causing the compressor to work much harder thus
causing more heat at the doors and compressor.
Not much you can do about that
Compressor failure is imminent!
Its possible that the back has been removed from the ref thus causing the problem
Also check condensor fan to see if it is running and clean condensor coils if they are dirty
Good Luck!

The cold control needs replacing. Thats the knob with the numbers that turn the Ref OFF and ON.
What I do is call my local Appliance Parts Store with my model no. They are extremely helpful .
Get freezer and ref thermometer. Ref is probably too cold.
Freezer should be 0 to 10 degrees. Ref 33 to 35

Frige stopped making ice. I was told to replace

NOTE: This
is a multi-solution answer since I don't have all the tech from your question to pinpoint your problem
But the solution is in here generically, if you read and study the solutions very, very carefully.
Check Temp inside freezer. It has to be down to about 10 or 15 degrees
This can cause slow ice making if its too high even tho its freezing everything else at 25 degrees
The ref. temp should be about 33-35
The Freezer temp should be 0 to 10 Any thing below these temps is overkill and a waste of elect
The higher the number you turn it up to is the coldest
The icemaker is 110v
See if water is in icemaker.
Pour water in Ice Maker and wait to see if it ejects.
If it ejects thenyou need to replace water valve in rear bottom of fridge(Its the part that
attaches to water line out of wall)
If it doesn't eject then it is a faulty Ice Maker.
If its leaking or no water at icemaker or door either one, then the valve at the rear bottom of ref needs replacing
First I would check the fan in the freezer. Listen to see if it is running
It moves air to the ref from the freezer
Then check to see if freezer control is turned WARMER, which makes the Ref. colder
Also if it is getting drinking water to the door but not to the icemaker (or vice versa) Then you need to replace
the water valve at the bottom rear of the fridge. It is a double valve and one side is not working
Also this might be a common Defrost problem, Ice
is not being melted by the defrost system. The fan can't blow through the coils into the fridge.
Take out back panel of freezer to check for ice buildup. The coils should be clean.
There are three components to a defrost system- a heater, heater thermostat, and a timer unless you have a defrost electronic card.
Its best handled by a Technician but you could possibly do it by taking your model number to the nearest appliance parts store and asking for the parts. They are mostly located in freezer ,behind back panel on freezer coils.except the card which is usually located in ref The parts store will have info
Also check fan undernearh Ref in the rear
Clean condenser coils underneath

I have a roper side

hi Adam,
The knob you speak of is the filter location. Take that off, remove the filter, and replace with a new one, that should solve the trouble, you can probably get a new one online or thru Lowes or Home Depot, or any place that has this style machine for sale, i.e. Sears.
Hope this is of help. Please rate and comment, Thank You

Water leaking from water filter/housing

Hi,
How old is the filter and are you using the correct filter? After markets don't seal well, and an old filter can leak.
You can remove the filter and use the dispenser to determine if just the filter is the issue, the housing has a by-pass system and works without a filter in it, just would filter water without a filter.
Give that a try, let me know if you need more help. I’m happy to help further over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/gere_bf68e6055dd61249

Ice smells funny

Hi,
Ice cubes are like sponges, they absorb odors. This can be from open food in refrigerator section or a inline filter has fail and need to be replaced and flush out. Your unit has a filter inside the refrigerator section and can be replaced fairly easy. I hope this helps. My refrigerator is not getting cold enough. The

It could be several things however most of them will require a service tech. I would clean the seal and the surface that it meets on the door frame. You can use a hair dryer to heat the seal to try to get it to expand a little.Make sure that the door is hanging right so that the seal is making good contact all the way around. Most of the door hinges are adjustable by loosening the mounting screws and realigning door so it closes right. When you get the seal cleaned and checked door for adjustment then use a petroleum jel like vaseline or a silicone base grease to coat the seal with.I use a liberal amount and note how it is hitting on frame. This will help with door adjustments if needed. Leave the grease on as this will help fill any small wear spots on the seal.
If you do need to replace the seal they are pushed into a channel on the doors. You can pull them off and clean grovee and then press new seal into place. Some of them can be a pain but with some patience you should be able to fit it in place. I don't think you have major problems like the compressor because freezer is working good. You may need a new thermostat but I think the door seal will fix your problem.Hope this helps and thank you.

It was working but stopped blowing cold air.

There is a concealed fan that serves to distribute the cooled air between the two cabinets and 'stir' it to avoid cold spots and that fan isn't running currently.
Go to the link below and enter your full model number to see if Sears has an illustrated breakdown of your Roper. This will show you where the fan is located and you can then decide if you want to DIY or call a pro.

Roper side by side mod #RS25AGXNQ00 not cooling

Hi,

If your refrigerator cooling doesn't seem to be working well, and you have no idea what to look for in troubleshooting your problem, there are some things you can do to try to figure out your problem without paying a serviceman to come into your home.
Freezing

Most new refrigerators come with automatic defrosters. Although this is a standard feature the drain hole in the defrosting assembly can get clogged with debris, lime, or even ice. If this happens the defrost will not work and there will be a build-up of ice in your freezer that begins to block the freon from flowing properly and causing heat to react improperly and cause your refrigerator to stop cooling.
Freon

Freon systems in a refrigerator are closed systems but on occasion you may need a recharge. Refrigerators use R-134a freon, just like in an automobile. The old R-12 freon is no longer available, so if you have an older model of refrigerator you will not be able to obtain the freon, and it will be recommended that you replace that refrigerator.
Seals

The seals that are on the door of the refrigerator and freezer can dry rot with time. When you begin to see the seals cracking or warping, if your refrigerator opens more easily than before, or if you see the the door does not close fully without pushing on the door then the gaskets around the doors will need to be replaced. They are held in place by clips and the replacement is an easy fix.
Holes in Lines

Let's face it, many people find ice in their freezer or the back of their refrigerator and will try some self-help without knowledge. They will grab a knife or fork and start chipping away at the ice. This is extremely dangerous. There is a great risk of puncturing a hole in the freon lines by stabbing at the ice. Since freon has the purpose of cooling most ice collects the thickest on the inside of the walls with the freon lines right behind the plastics. A better method of removing the ice is to empty your refrigerator, turn it off and leave the door open. If you want to speed up the process you can turn on a blow dryer and aim it at the edges of the ice. If you aim at the edges you will warm up the ice and create warm water which will flow down and help to separate the ice panel from the wall.
Uneven Refrigerator

If a refrigerator is not even on the floor it may not close properly. Rock your refrigerator and see if it seems to topple from one foot to another. The feet on a refrigerator can be adjusted by screwing in or out and leveling each foot individually until they are all even.
Non-Problem Warming

If your home is hot your refrigerator will work harder. If you put a lot of food in your refrigerator and freezer, your coolant will have to work harder, and it will seem to take longer to cool. It is just that there is a lot of food that is trying to freeze or maintain cool temperatures.
i hope this helpout in solving the problem....

Water is dripping out the bottom when you open the

first thing to check would be the bottom and back of the inside of the freezer and see if you have any ice build up if you did this would be a defrost issue you can read more about this if you do have ice by clicking this link http://applianceoutletservice.com/appliance-care-tips/refrigerator-tips/refrigerator-defrost-system-information.htm another thing you can check is the door seals if you have a rip tear or pinch in the door seals this causes condensation to build up or if you also have water that is on the door there is a line that goes through the bottom of the hinge that brings water to the water dispensor you basicly need to find out where the water comes from remove the rear panel inside the freezer if you dont see ice just to double check there is a small drain hole under the condensor that sometimes also freezes up with ice in some units so look further into where the water is coming from and message me back if you have any further questions and please remember to rank how this opinion has helped it allows me to help others in similar situations in the future Thanks Rick
