MY Roper Dryer model # RED4340SQ1,Will Tumble but not Dry Clothes
For this job, all your work is going to be behind the machine. Tools you'll need is: 1/4 nut driver or drill with 1/4 adapter and a multimeter with ability to check continuity. With the machine unplugged, remove the back cover of the dryer. Once done, the heating element will be located on the right hand side with two fuses on the housing of the element. Test the element and each fuse seperatly by removing the wires and checking for continuity on each component. All parts should show continuity, so if one doesn't its bad and needs to be replaced If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at

Heat is not always coming on in dryer. Roper dryer from Lowes
There are numerous temperature sensors on the dryer. Some are near the drum, some could be near the lint filter if it is located inside the dryer door. Try changing these first as they are an in expensive fix. It could also be the heating coils themselves. Highly unlikely it would be the dial, unless the dial was accidentally turned in the wrong direction.
Roper Dryer REX5634KQ belt replacement
The manual will be no help in replacing your belt. It only tells you how to use the unit, not how to repair it. I have a copy of it in memory, if you'd like it email me your email address and I'll send it. I also have a diagram on file that shows the exact route for the belt on your dryer. I could send that as well. My email is

Roper dryer heats
Hello James,The reason the clothes are so hot and the cause of the thermal cutoff going out in the first place was due to very poor air flow through out the dryer causing excessive heat to be built up in the dryer. What needs to be checked is for built up lint in the blower housing and or a blocked/ restricted vent tube.GENE
How do you find the model number
open the door and look around the opening where you put the clothes into the machine, you'll see a tag with the model and serial numbers on it.

Timer clicks on dryer but want work
A lot of times the small white fuse will melt and kill the door switch circuit on these.
I removed a bunch of junk from this one's blower housing/filter chute:
So if your door switch is fine check the thermal limit:
