Barb ,the electrics tripping, THAT is telling you of a SERIOUS FAULT.... Bit of a job to sort out over web, but it seems as though the heater is faulty, tripping when THAT is turned on. You need a meter, on ohms range to check, and you will probably find a fault ( short ) from the earth connection to any of the mains connection. (if you can locate the heater element, under the drum, low down on there will be 3 connections, note connections, and MAKE SURE YOU RECONNECT CORRECTLY!! DO NOT TOUCH, ALTER, OR MESS WHILST PLUGGED IN /TURNED ON AT ANY TIME, it WILL kill you, and HURT YOU AT SAME TIME...) You could time the cycle, check when it trips out, unplug machine, disconnect mains feeds to heater element, and tape/isolate them, restart machine on same cycle, if machine NOW is running on longer, I would bet it is the heater element. (Machine will probably stay in this mode, waiting for water temp to rise, which it now can't achieve. DO NOT RUN MACHINE WITH EARTH DISCONNECTED BE VERY CAREFUL, IF YOU HAVE ANY DOUBT, GET A PROFESSIONAL, BUT AS YOU ARE HERE, I GUESS YOU ARE AWARE OF ALL SAFETY ISSUES. in most cases unplug from the wall for several minutes, and try again if that fails maybe a fault in the module

Michele that wooshing sound is usually made by water entering or exiting the main clothes compartment.This is all water movement created by the washers internal pump and initiated by the wash cycle switch on the dashboard of washer.Check for disconnected wires on pump and or wires to the cycle switch.
