You helped me CLEAN the HP PSC 1610
it had MASIVE amounts of waisted ink
in the area that it WANTS to waste ink
to keep the cartridges FLOWING...
BUT... NOW ... HERE IS A SOLUTION TO
THE CLICKING NOISE
THE RATCHIT NOISE
HP PSC 1610 NOISE
It seems that HP (as with most all manufacturers)
has DESIGNED-IN A PART THAT WILL BREAK ! ! !
PICTURE ATTACHED
explanation...
opened the mid section of the printer
moved the ink holder module to the far left
pushed the cleaning tray
(it moves to you and away from you)
away towards the rear of the machine
used masive amounts of isopropyl alcohol
and an old toothbrush
to clean most of the gunk ink buld-up
(started with q-tips but it was not enough)
After cleaning ... the machine worked again...
BUT
that noise was still there
after carefull inspection
I saw the problem
there was a hairline crack in a small plastic part
above a rotating gear
when the carriage came to the right
it was suposed to move that part
off or away from the gear
but because it was cracked
it did not move properly
SOLUTION
crazy glue or super glue
and shim to hold in place while drying
(maby heat with a light bulb while drying)
