Printing
It almost sounds as if the guide on the left side has been moved. Reload the paper so it is up against the right side of the paper tray and then move the left guide up against the paper.

Colour printing problem - tried using a cold blower...
I'm not sure if this will solve it, but whenever that has happened to me, I take a paper towel and I wick the bottom of the cartridge until the 4 colors show up. You might also try running hot water on that part of the cartridge and then wicking.
Also if you have the Printer Assistant loaded, there is an option there to clean the cartridge. Even though it's a new cartridge it may be clogged.
Hope this helps.

Check ink cartridge levels
If using Windows, you could go to Control Panel -> Printers and Faxes -> select printer and right click. At the context menu, select 'Properties'. There may be a tab there to view the ink levels.
Also, the manufacturer of the printer may have software you could install from their website.
Hi, I had weird languge
I'm guessing you mean the printer is printing out random characters. Cancel the job on PC, and the unplug power cord from printer and wait a bit. This is to erase any print jobs stored in its memory. Plug it back in and turn it on.
Printing problems
Unfortunately there is little you can do to troubleshoot hardware malfunctions like this you describe. Especially on inkjet printers. You would be better off getting a replacement printer.
Make sure you take the plastic guards off the cartridges, other than that there really isn't much more you can do.
6122 Printer says it is out of paper and will not print test page
Hi Ken,
The user manual says this:
1. Verify the following:
There is sufficient paper in the paper tray (at least ten sheets).
The paper tray is not overly full.
The paper stack is touching the back of the paper tray.
2. Slide the paper guides so they fit firmly against the edges of the paper.
3. Press the Resume button to continue printing.
Sometimes my printer won't print if it has too little or too much paper in the slot. It's a relatively common sensor problem.
Try that.
If all else fails, here's a link to the user manual in pdf form:

Hi, try updating your printer drivers:
Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done
