HP Officejet 4215 All-In-One Error: Remove/Check Left Cartridge?

I cannot fix this error message that has me stuck. I found some info on the net that I tried (clear taping up certain metal spots on the cartridge plates itself that supposedly works but didn't for me). The odd thing is the LEFT cartridge is the COLOR tank that I've "NEVER" used to print ANYTHING in color since I've had this printer (since 2006). This message has left the printer useless since it won't print, fax, scan or copy at all! Should I simply just buy a new color cartridge or just take it in for tech service?

Apparently HP meant left cartridge when looking from the back of the printer. I replaced that one (B/W), problem went away. Sort of dumb...

Try this while standing on one leg.

1. OPen ink caridge lid.
2. Remove the affected cartridge.
3. Close lid
4. Try to print. This will fail, but that is ok.
5. Open the ink cartridge door again.
6. Remove the other cartridge.
7. Unplug the unit.
NOTE FOR THE NEXT STEP
This can be risky and I asume no responsibility for pressng too ******* the contact points, havng too much alcohol, using the wrong kind of alcohol, or not using alcohol or other such problems that can occur.

8. Using ONLY alcholo lightly brushthe contact points
9. Lightly clean the cartridge cotact points.
10. Plug in the unit
11. Install the cartridges.
12. Go through the alignment process.
13. Switch to the other leg, those with one leg only are exempt.
14. You just might be ready to print again.

I know this sounds crazy but this just worked for me.

Align page not detected

I put in a new cartrige as usual and for some reason it won't detect my alignment page this time. I printed several new ones to try but none work.

when it prints the align page, take a look at the carriage. Do you see it stop and shine a blue light every so often? That is what detects the alignment. If you do not see a light, call HP support.

The problem is with Windows Vista...it does not recognize the scan button when you touch it on the scanner. There are two ways around this:
Go to Programs / Windows Fax & Scan / Click new scan / click file and then click scan
OR
Go to Accessories / Paint / Cick File /click from scanner or camera / click scan

Stalled printer cartridges

I am consistently receiving an error message about a stalled printer cartridge when I am printing. The printer will start making a loud noise and stop. The stalled printer cartridge error will then appear. I then have to open the printer door and select ok on the printer. The printer will then print a couple more pages, and the same problem will occur again. How do I fix this problem permanently?

Sounds like an issue with the print carriage. When it's out of alignment and tries to print, it can make awful noises. HP.com has a web page that describes a number of troubleshooting steps when you have print carriage issues:

Carriage Jam Errors

There's also a related web page having to do with the noise coming from the printer:

Noisy Print Carriage

Hope this helps. Good luck.

HP 4215 All in One - check right cartridge error

My HP4215 all in one ink ket has an error "check right cartridge" and even with a new cartfridge, it still has the error. I checked the contacts inside, and all looks OK (no lint or dust). I tried to reset to factory defaults, and that did not work either. Tried clean print head and test alignment, and also no improvement. On the check alignment, the first pass comes through (black and white only) but the printer will not then feed from above.

Hello!

As the manual of this device says

Check the print cartridge to make sure
you have properly removed its packaging. Being careful not to touch the gold-colored contacts or ink nozzles, make sure you have gently pulled the pink tab to remove the plastic tape.

Here is the link to a manual of this device. Hopefully, it will help.

'Paper jam" on hp 4215 all in one while there is no paper jam

I have hp 4215 all in one model. My printer said paper jam while there was no paper jam. I tried to reset the printer by holding both # and 6 down while plug in the power. It did show the” Initiating full reset” on the screen and even let me choose the language and county. After I choose English and USA, the screen went back the old way saying ‘paper jam”

Thank you for the help!

ithink it is not softwere pfoblem. it is related to the sencer which is connectet to the paper feder ...etc and some time dust of printer created that type problem . in our gener al practes we solved this problem. first we should open cover and drum then blow air by blower. in this way we remove disattach ment of senser., then printer can work.

HI

you may get the ink levels in several ways,

1) printing a test page.
2)if you got HP solution Center with the software cd of the printer ans it is installed in the computer, you can easily check the ink levels there.
3)sometimes ink levels option is available in the priner drivers in the printers and faxes in the control panel.
4)right clik the printer icon and then goto properties and then you will find tabs to check the ink levels,it might be in the service this device under the maintenance tab.

Feel free to contact me if there's any query.

Click here for instructions on resolving carriage jams on the 4215xi. If you successfully complete these instructions and still have carriage jams, your printer likely needs service.

On my HP Officejet 4215,

On my HP Officejet 4215, my black cartridge doesn't print. The cartridge is nearly full.

If you haven't used the black print option, as in to print without using the color cartridges, then the black print head may be 'gummed up'.
You can try to clean the print head using the 'clean' function, which may work.
You can also try to get the print head to work by using ammonia and hot water. If the cartridge has its own print head, you can use some hot water on a paper towel and set the print head onto the soaked towel for a few minutes. After it has sat for a while, gently dab it dry with another paper towel, and try to use it. If it works, you're done. If not, you can use ammonia to try to clean the print head using the same tactics as using water. Try water first, then ammonia.
If the print head is fixed in place, you have to remove the whole assembly from the printer, and then try to clean the print head using the same method.
