when you had to remove the toner cartridge from the machine did you blow the machine ? if so did you remove the laser unit from the machine ? if yes , then check the shutter of the laser unit if it is opening

The HP laserjet 1000 takes either the C7115A or C7115X cartridge. The common name is a 15A or 15X. If you have anything else - forget it, it won't fit. If you have a new/refilled one that does not work properly - make sure you have removed the seal tape or return to supplier.

the white ghost lines are down to the charge wire within the toner cartridge being dirty, the only real way forward is to replace the toner cartridge as access to the charge chorona wire is not possible without ruining the cartridge itself

download the drivers for HP 1200 or the generic drivers but the 1200 series should work

you can try to load the driver from the cd or from hp.com directly.

What is the problem with the windows 7 driver, does it not print or detect the printer. if it does not print, try to delete the driver and reload from the cd or from the hp.com website. if it does not detect the printer, try replacing the usb cable or let a technician look at the formatter board of the printer.
