I'm Sorry to say but it could be that you need a new screen (easy repair around $195) unless you go to HP Or it could be the built in video card (much harder to repair) Do the lines appear from start up or slowly get worse as the comp gets hotter, if this is the case it is more likely the video card then I would contact HP to get a quote, But first, Try plugging your laptop into an external monitor & see if the lines show up then

i went back to factory on my hp laop top g 6 three times i keep getting windows 9 i should have windows 7 on it

IVE GOT THE SAME PROBLEM

Oh, you must be an Administrator, right? If there is another Administrator account on the PC, it can restore your password through User Account Settings -> Manage Another Account.

If not, I have a complex way. First, restart the PC. When it shows the HP logo when booting up, press the button for Setup (it is shown at the bottom of the screen, and it is F8 on my HP tx2001au).

Now, don't get scared by what appears. It looks a bit complex, but it is very simple and easy.

Navigate using the keyboard. Press the right button to move to the Security section. Here, press Enter on the Administrator Password option. Now enter and confirm a new password and you're done.

See the bottom of the screen for the button for 'Quit Saving Changes' and the computer will reboot. Now, I guess you can enter the new password.

If this doesn't work, see online for ways to reset a password in Vista. There are some softwares to burn to a CD and use.

If it is an XP, I guess there is nothing to do. Just press Ctrl+Alt+Del on the logon screen to see the classic logon screen. Type in the username 'Administrator' without quotation marks and the password blank. Press Enter and enjoy.

If you forgot windows login password, you could enter into safe mode (F8 when booting up) to reset windows password while you forgot user account password, but if you forgot administrator password, there is no way to change it, you should use programs to recover admin password. Yesterday evening, I forgot my Windows administrator password. In the end, I used Windows Password Seeker to reset my Windows password successfully. It's worth a try.

There is plenty of software that can reset forgotten windows password available online. I recommend Windows Login Recovery. Try this:

1. Enter a computer that can link to Internet. Download Windows Login Recovery and install the software on that computer.

2. Run the software and create windows password reset disk by follow the instructions.

3. Eject the created CD/DVD and insert it into the locked computer.

4. Reboot the locked computer (it's necessary for you to change your locked computer's BIOS setting to make it boot from CD drive) and then follow the instructions to reset your password.

5. Now login Windows and set a new password.

the best resolution for this issue is
go to the device manager and uninstall the sound drivers and than restart the system and the drivers will get detected again and the issue will be resolved

not sure on this for sure but it sounds like what the dv6000 did or does and the motherboard needs replaced.
