W820 washing machine
Some markets do have an internal fuse, if it has one it will be right where the power cord runs into the machine, if not then the issue will be with the main control panel.
Miele novotronic w820
i havent changed one on this model but there useally much the same and qiute easy to do first take the back off the machine
at the lower half of the rear of the drum there is two prongs sticking out with wires on spade connectors a third earth wire in the centre remove these 3 wires they should just pull off but sometimes held on by nuts you will have to check yours then with the machine emty of water unbolt this is the element assembly is the reverse

very simple ,first thing first always unplug washing machine from main socket, remove top cover reomove soap drawvremove three screw from inside soap draw, remove kick pannel at bottom to reveal drain pump ,remove door seal held by spring ,remove two scrw where door strikre goes in ,then you should beable to lift of whole front which will reval heating element
NType your problem for a solution...need to access the heater element to test
not to familier with your washer but you have to take the back off and then you should see the heater at the bottom of the drum with wires on take the wires off make sure you mark them get a muti meter set it on ohms test across the two terminals you should get a reading if not the heater has gone and try it from one terminal to earth on cabinet you should not get a reading if you do its faulty
Machine has completely stopped working
have you looked inside the machine where the main supply wire comes into the machine it could be a burnt out wire on the suppresser or it could be the door catch i am not to familier with this machine but try these 1st
Machine not taking the fabric softener. Just sits
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I hope you don't mind me saying so but often the softener dispensing siphon tube gets missed when cleaning the dispenser 'cos it's difficult to see!----------->
It will normally have some sort of cover over it which you must remove to expose the little stuck up pipe/tube. On some models there is just a small individual cap over the tube. The tube is down which the conditioner and water should siphon. It is likely to be blocked by 'gunge'- a mix of powder and conditioner. The whole of the tray, particularly this pipe and the bit which fits over it, must be completely clean and clear for it to operate correctly. It is worthwhile checking fairly regularly.
If this isn't the problem it could be that the water dispensing is not working correctly. It is easy to check by selecting (final?) rinse, pulling the drawer slightly out and seeing and hearing whether water is being fed into the softener tray. If is isn't try cleaning the jets that feed the water. If still no go then it is a call-out ;-0(
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Hi. After pressing [start], the drain pump whirs
Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
I suspect the filter is blocked so the drain pump is unable to remove any remaining water efficiently.
I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to rinse or spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Following are my complete and hopefully 'coverall' pre-typed guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT (alternatively use a wet vac as sensibly suggested by VinnyB1234!)
If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!). These panels are either held on by (plasic) screws or will just pull off. Most filters are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play.
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning.
If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!

Machine not draining, now wont fill either

When the washing machine is turned on the machine
if the machine is not filling then this would be an issue either involving the water valve or the pressure switch in the unit. Remove the 2-3 screws along the back that hold the top panel to the back frame. you would then slide the upper cover towards the rear of the unit removeing the top panel completely from the machine. If you look where the water lines connect to the rear of the machine on the inside would be the water inlet valve and you can test to each top plug in that you are getting power to each solenoid if you were getting power then you would unscrew your hoses and check for any debris caught in the screens that filter the water going into your machine.if you were not getting power to the water inlet valve then you would look at the pressure switch which is located on the oppisite wall of the unit. I await your reply to find out about how your test was with water inlet valve before posting further fixes for the pressure switch Thanks Rick
