My crt monitor has been displaying horizontally

Hello, this is vertical IC loose connection. The vertical output components either a transistor or an IC is probaly got a bad solder joint. Also another possibility is the deflection pins. Buy soldering iron and solder from electronic work to repair the connections.Take the back off of it after it is unlpugged and disconnected from the computer and check the bottom of the circuit board for bad solder joints.I recommend you to be serviced by a technician.

lubbarlubab, Looks like you will need to get a power supply repaired/replaced in your unit. Before you call out the service guy, you should spend 30-40minutes at YOUTUBE and view some "LCD-TV repair" videos and also videos of "LCD monitor repair" and LEARN what are the most common components that are causing this plague of "BLACK SCREEN of DEATH" to disrupt your life. If the "cold-cathode-fluorescent-lamps" fail to light-up due to a failure of a single or multiple $2 parts on a power supply board you have a black screen!! This problem is also very common to LCD computer monitors. Try to view a vid by someone called "cal22583" who did his own repair to a Philips 42" or 50" unit. If this was of some help please rate on fixya.
Bye for now. 12fixlouie

Laptop screen notworking

My laptop screen goes blank from time to time and these are the reasons it happens. If you boot the computer with the screen open while on battery sometimes the screen doesn't connect properly, but closing and re-opening the screen fixes this. Also, if your computer has a video out connection such as HDMI or S-Video look at the F5 key and see if it looks like it might mention switching screens at all. If it looks like it does, hold the fuction (FN) key and press F5, give it 10 or so seconds, if that doesn't work, try it again a few times, waiting each time. If none of this gets your screen back, it is a hardware issue not a settings or user issue.

That sounds like a bad power adapter, a bad inverter , or a bad controller board.

When TV does not start, and sometimes you hear a clicking noise, that means that the TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

The key lock is a function that can only be reset with a remote. Go to www.zenith.com and under "support" you'll find product manuals. You can enter your model number and get the manual, but once "key lock" is on, you'll need a remote to change it.

Installing new batteries on Zenith bathroom scale.

I presume you mean a battery which looks like a disk. The place where it goes has usually a sort of button below. The writing goes on top. if the 2 batteries go on top of each other, both writing are on top.
