DCR TRV320

That is the "LOAD" error code.

However, to service the C:31 code, Sony recommends you do the following:

  1. Turn off the camcorder.
  2. Remove the battery or disconnect the AC power adapter for 60 seconds.
  3. Insert the battery or reconnect the AC adapter.
  4. Turn on the camcorder.
  5. If the error message appears, service may be required.
If your camcorder still shows the same error code, then you'll have to send in your camcorder for service.

I bought a new Memory

Check the following:
Memory Stick is inserted in correct position and orientation in camcorder. Try re-inserting several times.
Write-protect tab is switched to allow writing to memory stick (on back of memory stick)
Memory Stick is formatted in FAT file system (this should already be done except if memory stick has been formatted in a computer in a different format)
Memory Stick is not over the maximum capacity memory stick of the camcorder.
Memory Stick is not full.
Memory Stick is clean and dry.
The dcr-trv320 is a 2000 yr. model and came with a 4mb capacity stick and can probably only use up to a 128mb capacity stick or possibly 256mb. Most memory sticks you can buy today are 1GB, 4GB, 8GB etc. memory stick pro duo. and are probably incompatible. E-Bay has some of the old memory sticks like the 128mb for sale.
There is a slight possibility that static electricity discharge zapped the stick. Try another memory stick or try the stick in another device.

I have a C:31:23 code

Tape mechanism problems can be quite complicated but they can usually be repaired fairly inexpensively. However, it's not a user serviceable problem and will need to be repaired by a qualified service technician.

My name is Rick and I'm a professional repair technician with over 20 years in the business and have repaired many of these. I'm semi retired and work from home with little overhead so I can keep repair costs low. If you decide to have the camera repaired, please click HERE for a directory listing that suits your needs.

If this response has been of any help to you, please be sure and give a positive vote for me on FixYa.com .

The playback is staticky (spelling???)or

Kinda mosaic-like noise?

Possible cause
-dirty playback head
-dirty or worn-out tape
-running tape recorded from different camcorder.Tape will play back best in the same cam that recorded it.

These are great cameras in fact I would still say they are the best ever made as yet, and yes it can be repaired, call Sony (Weekdays 9-4pm) on 01256 828828, listen to options then select Camera support, all the best.

The audio and video both seem to be interrupted during playback

It is possible that your camcorder's read/write head is faulty. Not surprising as its a relatively old camcorder. Did you try transferring the video to a computer and checked if the problem persists?

I have an E61:10 error on my camcorder TRV 320.

As weird as it might sound, it seems that several error codes on Sony's camcorders can be solved by simply shutting off the camera, removing the battery - and giving it 2 good smacks! Yes... I know it sounds stupid, but the more I search about it (this is the second time) I see more and more people supporting this "unofficial" solution!

Read this forum thread (as a little proof).

Good luck,
Pelu.

How do you get images onto the computer

You should be able to use a USB cable to connect the device to a computer, or take the memory stick from the device and use an adapter with your computer to access it like a flash drive or external hard drive. If you are using an SDHC memory card, you must buy a SDHC compatible adapter and meet the criteria for the adapter.
