sorry friend, there's really no option for you to connect an external mic in JVC GR-SXM260E S-VHS-C Analog Camcorder.

This is a known fault, JVC recalled a lot of these camcorders in 2007. They were manufactured with defective components. Contact JVC customer Services and demand a replacement.

hey have the same problem with my camcorder too far the past 3yrs send it to jvc they said no problem found but as soon i got it back it work for one day them went back to safe mode.they said they could rplace the head mechanicalism for $350 which is roughly what paid for the camcorder.if gotyours fix let me now

the rotating video head circuit is faulty. problem may be deeply rooted on a circuit board or as simple as head not spinning. can you hear the head spinning?

you need to clean the heads use or buy cleaning tape

As far as i can tell, your Nvidia is only capable of outputting video, if you wish to input video from your camcorder you will need a video capture card. the cable will then depend on the configuration of the card, but may well be a standard s-video cable. Try a quick visit to a computer store, and see what video capture devices they have to offer, if you need more advice on these then please ask. An alternative solution would be to hook your camera to a stand-alone dvd recorder using the s-video connection. You should then be able to watch and edit this footage in your pc - you will probably need some software to do this(ask if you need help), but you should be able to at least view your footage in windows media player or similar. The cheapest option may turn out to be replacing your camera with a digital one that can be directly linked to your pc through a USB connection or similar. all the processing of the image is done by the camera and the software that comes with it, so no need for a graphics capture card. Take camera and its battery to a camera outlet, ask them to check the built-in rechargeable battery. Most outlets will help you with this, as its likely that if the battery has failed, you'll buy a replacement from the same dealer.

not sure on this one but it might be the heads in your vid cam may need cleaning. or the tapes are not running straight on the heads or the rollers in side. if the vid cam has been in a cold place it can cause this fault as the heads may have a bit of damp. try putting a tape in and run it fast forword in play mode and see if starts to clear the playhead.if it does keep doing it until you see a clear picture. this could also be a head misalignment fault if it is you will have to take it to some one to have a look at. if any of the above does not work then you will have to take to some one to look at it. .

Sounds as if the battery needs replacing - have you tried with a spare battery ?

The heads need cleaning. DO NOT USE A HEAD CLEANING TAPE. Thats like holding sand paper to the drum. Use alcohol and a swab.

Do you have the sd card that holds the pictures? Put in computer. Computer will give you option how to open and save photos. You do not have to use makers software disc, any photo reader can store your pictures on computer.
