Screen goes black with bright white horizontal line

This problem of loss of vertical deflection with the line offset from center suggests a cold solder connection in the vertical sweep circuit or in the power supply to the vertical sweep circuit. Most service shops should be able to fix.

Turns on, no video.

How do you know it's recognizing the input? Black screen on a CRT monitor usually mean the horizontal output circuitry has failed impeding the flyback from producing high voltage. If this monitor is really important to you most reputable repair people still repair them. However, it may be overall cheaper in the long run to dump it and get an LCD monitor.

Lacie 19" Electron Blue - Black screen with a brilliant white line across

I have 2 of these monitors and have this problem. I was so frustrated turning the monitor off and on until the white line disappeared that one day, I punched the screen. And it worked! So now whenever this happens (about once every other day) I use my palm and smack the lower left corner of the monitor until the white line disappears. I like the color on these screens so I don't want to replace them until I have to. I will NOT buy another Lacie though.

Will not stay on

Under normal circumstances, a computer monitor will not remain powered up if it is not receiving a signal from the cpu. Whether or not this is the problem in your case is difficult to say. First steps would be to check all the cable connections to the monitor and cpu, and if that doesn't solve the problem, try another monitor with your cpu to see if it truly is your monitor that is bad or if what you describe is just a symptom of a larger problem. Good luck!

No Green

Check the crt board and follow the green signal path, could have a shorted transistor or a resistor out of tolerance on that line, check all the components on that line

I need to know how to do a factory reset on a lacie 4Big Quadra enterprise.

  1. Disconnect all cables from the device.
  2. Press and hold the "reset" button (located on the rear panel) for about 10 seconds.
  3. Wait for the device to restart and initialize. This may take several minutes.
  4. Reconnect the cables to the device and try accessing it again.
Note: It's recommended to backup all data stored on the device before performing a factory reset, as all data will be lost during the reset process.
