Downloading Video to my Computer from a JVC GR-SXM920

You need a video capture card that supports analog inputs. Connect the video and audio out jacks from the camera to the computer. You will need some sort of software also. The Movie Maker software that comes with Windows XP would work.
The little cord that came with the camera will not transfer the video.

Can a jvc camcorder GR-SXM38US be connect to a

Nope, that camera only has S-Video and composite video outputs. IEEE1394 is also known as firewire. Newer camcorders will connect via firewire. You will need a video capture card for your computer. Either an internal card or a USB version. Then you can record the video onto your computer.

JVC Error Code 02 Safeguard Mode

Brendon, The supply side tape guide can jump out of its track and cause the mechanism to lock up. The load motor is trying to load the tape but cannot, so the load motor driver "times out" and displays the E02 error you're seeing. If you can get to it, try reseating the guide into its track, be careful not to scratch or touch the drum assy located right near the guide track. Good Luck, I hope you can resolve the problem. Why won't my digital camera charge via USB anymore?

Take camera and its battery to a camera outlet, ask them to check the built-in rechargeable battery. Most outlets will help you with this, as its likely that if the battery has failed, you'll buy a replacement from the same dealer.

Not used my vid cam for a long time but when played back some tapes played great. The following day I tried playback on the tapes & they all showed a blue screen. No images What am I doing wrong?

not sure on this one but it might be the heads in your vid cam may need cleaning. or the tapes are not running straight on the heads or the rollers in side. if the vid cam has been in a cold place it can cause this fault as the heads may have a bit of damp. try putting a tape in and run it fast forword in play mode and see if starts to clear the playhead.if it does keep doing it until you see a clear picture. this could also be a head misalignment fault if it is you will have to take it to some one to have a look at. if any of the above does not work then you will have to take to some one to look at it. .

Remove battery Press and HOLD Eject as you place battery back on (so its the first command it recognizes with power) and try to eject. If it does not come out, camera will need service to remove tape or fix gears

My GR_SMX730U VHS camcorder is eating the tape.It uses a PRO TC-30 casset.

that means the head is sticky or the takeup rollers are icky take it apart . clean all the parts the tape touches with something thats strong but little water . as for the head very carefull clean it when you get to the actual holes where heads are only use a proper qtip wetted . look it up or youll break them. on the rubber rollers scrub them . then load the tape an watch it run. its easy to fix this but you need a nice clean place an some small phillips , take pics of parts/screws if needed

What software do I need to transfer tapes from gr d240 mini DVC to desktop PC

Your PC must have a IEEE1394 port (FIREWIRE PORT). If you do not have, you can try PINNACLE DAZZLE to video capture.
