Wega Mininova EPU Espresso Machine Questions & Answers
Bunn Coffee Maker Leaks out the bottom
I have an older BUNN B10 pour-o-matic that I thought was leaking from the bottom. Upon close inspection, I found that it was leaking from the worn out washers located on the top of the tank, allowing water to run down the sides of the stainless steel tank. There's a great fix offered on Fixya.com that suggests going to a hardware store and buying a Gardner Bender GHG-1575 rubber grommet with a 3/4" hole and install it into the large hole in the basin. Then place a metal washer on top of the grommet and snug it up with the threaded fitting. Many folks say it's a great fix. I went a different route. I called BUNN customer service and spoke to a very nice woman who understood my needs and sent out a free repair kit that contained a new fitting, washer, and seal. I received it in a few days and it's working great. Beats going out and buying parts for a work around repair. BTW, the repair kit is called "Universal Retail Seal Replacement Kit #37091.0000"
Wega Espresso Machine is slow
Bad pressurestat or bad heating element. PS feeds power to heating element, heating the machine til its up to pressure, which then turns the pressure stat off. If either of the two pieces are bad neither will work properly.
Could also be the machine is overfilled which causes the machine to take longer to heat up.
Wega espresso
Steam out of the top is a bad safety valve.
Steam out of wands when they're off is bad gaskets in the valves which usually means they need to be rebuilt.
Steam out of groups is a water blockage and/or pressure stat is going bad and causing the machine to over heat.
Can be any one of the following. Need more information to answer properly.
Im looking to source a wega Mininova espresso machine in SA?
Wega is good, generally, but avoid this Mininova. Tell me if you are looking to a home machine, or for commercial use. Either way, it proved unsuitable. We gave many Mininovas to scrap dealers, having made the mistake of damaging our reputation by promoting them.
Black and decker spacesaver coffee maker
There are two heat stages in the Spacesaver. One is the carafe heater you can see while the other is an assembly within the main housing. This assembly contains a heater, thermostat, and a section of metal tubing with high temperature silicon connectors at each end. when the water storage tank is inserted it fills the heated section of the tube and when activated the water boils as it passes through the one way valve and forces the water into the coffee container. This steam driven surge repeats until all water has been moved to carafe. There are several failure modes associated with this assembly an I have two. 1. is the heater opening which I have and 2. is the thermostat degrading causing incomplete transfer and ultimately no transfer because it brings the temp down prematurely. Another is crud on the check valve so many problems - no solutions
We have an old Wega
i believe, if i am understanding this, as i guess here, when you are frothing the milk, it seems to also fill up faster, like water is not steaming as much as it is filling. As you know, steam is hot water turned into steam, now what is happening the steam is half steam and half water. If this is the symptoms along with air bubble, then it points to O RING replacement, direct water is getting through before it has time to steam, on a commercial type machine, you are better off to have a mobile espresso guy come out in your area, replace the o ring in the wand, and also make sure no other damage has been cause from back water pressure on electronics. I hope this helps, this is a do it yourself job, but would not recommend if you really don't know about guts of the machine and electronics. The computer is the major expense of the machine. Thanks Mike
Brand new EPU/1 Mininova (just delivered to me in
It sounds like the water line is blocked. There is an obstruction in the line somewhere. This must have happened at the factory. You could disassemble the machine, but would void the warranty. And I believe that you will need the warranty in the future for other problems. I know that it is not the news that you wanted to hear. But if you want to disassemble the machine let me know and I will try to explain.
Why does Gevalia coffee maker leak from bottom?
Because the Gevalia coffee makers are often offered as a free or reduced price premium for purchasing Gevalia coffees they are not well made and can sometimes have a difficult to repair molding error in the reservoir. I have had very good luck with the Hamilton Beach Brew Station. It is affordable, well made, easy to keep clean and nearly foolproof.
