Dell E173FP stuck in power save mode

Just had the same problem... what worked for me was simple. Unplug the cable from the monitor, hit the power button a few times until Dell screen poped up with a few color bars because it knew it was no longer connected to a PC. Then plugged the cable back in and all was fixed.

Monitor stuck in power save mode

Take the RAM out to be sure that is not causing the issue. If it is then make sure it is seated right and is the right kind and try again. If the video card is not initializing that would cause the monitor to not work.

My Dell E173fp monitor display doesn't work with my macbook

The fine print says it should work. Real life might be different. Do you have a genius bar, found at Apple stores, anywhere close? If so, make an appointment and let them make the connection for you. The genius bar is a free service and I've never found anything that they haven't been able to fix...and fix it quickly...if it's fixable.

DELL 1907FPT WITH PINK DISPLAY

Hello,

The picture board on your monitor is bad, since it goes off after it is turned on and the power led or button is on, it means the picture board of your monitor has developed fault.

The best thing for you to do now is to take the monitor to a local repairer within your vicinity or any service center to help with the replacement of the picture board because the fault is not something you can fix yourself, in order not to complicate issues.

Take care.

Dell E173FP Monitor Problem

My Dell E173FPc exhibited this same problem as described by many people on this site. Having looked through the solutions I decided to investigate further.

Posted solutions point to a faulty 12V smoothing capacitor, dry joints on the inverter transformer or faulty driver transistors. All these were Ok in my case, but on closer inspection a dry joint was found on L202 – see picture.

Cleaning off the old solder and re-soldering fixed the problem.
So if your monitor exhibits the same symptoms carefully inspect all the solder joints of large components around the inverter.

I have a samsung syncmaster sa10. The monitor screen needs to be adjusted to the right. How do I make the adjustment?

I will admit, have never seen you monitor before. But looked up in Google and found this. Hope this helps. 1 Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Then a menu should appear... 2 Press and hold it until it is over AUTO. Then tap the button once. Let us know if it helps. It would not break your monitor to do the above. But be patient and follow the above simple procedures. This could help others same as you.

Monitor display is blurry, with shadows and waves next to text

Jnanda,
Could be one of two related situations both have to do with built up magnetic flux:

!. If you have used the monitor for a significant amount of time and have never degaussed it that might be it.

To fix: Go to where your monitor's controls are (eg screen size/position, Brightness, Contrast, etc.). Providing that we are referring to an older style monitor (like a TV) and not a flat screen, you should find a degaussing button located there. This button is marked with a depiction of a horseshoe magnet. Press it.

If you have on screen settings control, hit the menu button and select the icon that looks like a horseshoe magnet.

You'll hear a buzz and the screen will go kooky for a moment.

You're then degaussed. Your problem should go away.

2. You may have moved the monitor close to a source of electromagnetic interference (or vice-versa) this will also cause that sort of thing you describe (remember that there are electrical lines in the walls (another source of EMI)

In that case move the monitor away from the EMI source or move the EMI source away from the monitor.

Remember that it could be both 1 and 2. So if the problem lessens but does not go away fully try both steps.

Dell Blinking Power Light

Just wanted to say Thank You for the info on this site. I had the same problem as previously posted. When powered up, the monitor showed a fast flash of the desktop and then went black, with the power indicator flashing green. I read the posts, purchased the capacitors and the 4 - 2sc5707 transistors through ebay. I ordered them on the 6th and rec'd them today. I only had one bad capacitor and one transistor that checked bad, but I ordered 5 caps and 4 transistors. When ordering the caps be careful of the height of the caps. I found this to be a problem because I ordered the 50v, 105 degree Panasonic caps that didn't fit with the enclosure attached, so I used the 4 good caps removed previously and replaced the bad one with a 470uf, 50v. 85 degree cap from Rubycon I found among my spare parts. Installed the parts and the monitor is working properly (for the last two hours) so I'm happy for as long as the repair lasts. Thanks again for the info.
