ViewSonic VX924 19" LCD Monitor - Page 5 Questions & Answers
Won't power on. No lights at all.
You have done Most of it...
You have tried to swap the Power cords that work fine with the Other Monitors and If that do not work there are 2 things externally that could be bad.
1-> The Power Button.
2-> The Port where you would Plug in the Power cable.
so Check if the Power button is stuck or Broken, or Loose out of control.
besides that If with one of the good power cord connected when you connect an external Head phone and you receive some Kind of sound out of it.,
It could be because of the Display settings.
you can try the monitor self test.
By having the Monitor Unpluged from the computer but still connected to the power.
you would see a message that shows, that the VGA cable is not pluged in if that shows your Monitor is fine otherwise it is BAD.
My lCD binks slightly you can see the display(dim).
Hmm,
well you dont open the Monitor for these because it usually Voids the warranty.
and as far as Parts for the Monitor are concerned they will not be available seperately.
you will have to service/Replace the Monitor.
Trouble hooking external Viewsonic monitor to Toshiba laptop
If I understand You are using a Monitor connecting the Monitor...
and the background is shared byboth the display however the Cursor stays only on one of them at a time. However it can be toggled among the 2.
If yes,
then this Feature is called the Extended Display.
Use the same Key Combination that you would use for external Display one More time and it should Work.

Pixel Ratio is just a parameter Measured to Produce Good Quality Display with Fine details so Do not Mix up with Resolution and Pixel ratio.
Use the Resolution that best sutes the Application you use(which may change with time to time based on applications you use)
Keep a standard Resolution 1024 x768,or which ever suits your Vision.
NViiDiA is a Grafix card and Monitor features are 2 differnt thigs so.
Dont be concerned about the Parameters and get mixed up.
just find the best possible Resolution and enjoy your Monitor with best Quality, :)
The monitor gree light blinks
It may be your power cord to the monitor. Did you use the same cord when you attached the monitor to a different computer?
View sonic flat screen monitor
Problem seemed to be a short in the power cable to the monitor. Replaced the power cable and for the time, the monitor is working correctly.
My VX924 Green Led Blinks until fully booted to windows
ok if what im understanding is you tried on another computer and it worked great
the monitor is not your problem the problem lies with your video card
the video card could be outdated
the video card could need updated software
the video is haveing a conflict with another IrQ on *********** board this is common in computers haveing conflicts
now if your not use to computers i would suggest to take it down to nears computer tech. store and have them set your IrQ for you this can get confusing
ask them if they can show you a walk threw on how to set the IrQ incase this happens again say if you do a restore on your comp i know you dont want to pay for it again to have them fix it
or you can call "GeekSquad" they can come to your home and fix it for you and show you a walk threw this might be better for u
i hope this helped you alot

It sounds to me like your losing the high voltage on the inverter board after the board warms up.Could be the transformer or a capacitor on the inverter brd.
VIEWSONIC GT775 PROBLEM
Hi no sorry their is nothing you can do it would cost to much to replace the screen you are better of replacing with a new one not alot of places do this sort of repair as it costs more than a new one this problem is not an eays fix it just costs to much to replace the lcd screen let me know if you need further assistance ok
I have a problem with my lcd 17"
Unplug the LCD panel from the main board and see if the light stays on.
If it does your panel is shorted, if it still blinks you could have a
short.
You'll need to check for shorts using an Ohm meter.
First, make sure you've replaced all the capacitors that are 220uf or
larger in the power supply and the inverter board of it's separate.
Measure the 5V and the 12V lines to ground. Do they measure shorted? If so, check the diodes and or regulators.
If not, check the inverter board (or the part of the board that runs the lights) to see if the transistors are shorted.
Also, check to see if any of the ceramic or mylar capacitors are cracked or overheated.
Out of range
You can try removing signal cable from pc.If it still says "Out of range" most probably main logic card or interface board as it is known in the lcd monitor could be defective. If on the other hand removing the signal cable gives message No signal ,cable not connected, try connecting monitor to another working known pc.If it still doesn't work the interface board in the monitor is defective.
Help
You will need to get a CRT monitor so you can see what you are doing to re-install the drivers for the LCD monitor.
Blinking power button on my monitor
Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
Brightness loss
This is a generic symptom that could happen to any LCD
monitor.
The following is a generic answer applicable to most.
Two possible causes are bad capacitors or a bad light inside
the LCD panel.
Open the unit and check to see if any of the capacitors in the power supply or
other boards look domed or vented on the top.
Replace any capacitors accordingly. Use the same value capacitors. Most often,
1000uF 16V or 25V, 470uF at 16 or 25V, 220uF at 16V or 25V.
If this doesn’t solve the problem, try checking the surface-mount transistors
on the inverter board that run the lights. Some times these transistors go bad.
Check the area for any cracked or overheated ceramic or mylar capacitors.
Also, you may have a bad light inside the panel. This is
tough to test without a spare light to use for troubleshooting.
You can take the panel apart and inspect the lamps but it is very tedious. It's
tough enough to get them apart and back together again never mind keeping the
layers clean. You have to try not to get any dust between the layers or you
will see it in the picture.
There are usually two light fixtures each of which holds two lamps. One fixture
is at the top and one at the bottom. Remove them one at a time and inspect the
lamps to see if any are broken or very dark on the ends. If one looks out of
place, it could be bad.
You'll have to find replacement lights on the net. It's not easy to replace
them, but if you've gone this far, good luck. You should be able to get generic
instructions off of the site that sells the lamps.
