Help get warning focus lock off
if you can remove the left side and see the lens inside then you can blow air in it , because some obstacles are in the way of focus ring and /or sensor, not so easy to do,usually is not electronic but mechanical type of failure.

The front portion of my Panasonic DVX-100 is loose
AFTER REMOVING THE LENS HOOD Try to remove the 2 tiny screws in the front of the lens and then you see 4 more screws .What happened is that some force on the lens broke the plastic base for some of these 4 screws. So try with a small screw driver and be careful about flat cable of focus sensor

DVX100BP Not recognized! Please help
Make sure the camera is in VCR mode. There is a switch button on the back of the camera. Then make sure in the menu setting for "recordingr" has the dv control set to on.

DVX-100A PSD NG error message
I think there is something worn in the lens.
I just give the the camera one or two sharp smacks with the heel of my hand
beneath the front body of the camera (not the lens),
That clears it up.
You can probably turn the stablization off too, but I think you also lose some display info.

Dvx100a showing black screens on lcd screen and view finder
You probably have the lens cap on, the iris dial closed, or you are in vcr mode rather than camera mode. You may also have the nd filter set to 1/64th, this is only for bright sunlight. When shooting indoors with low light, set the nd filter to off and hit the iris button until iris manual appears on the lcd, then dial the iris dial in front of the iris button up or down to bring the iris to around 5.6 f stop.

You have to go into your menu and turn the dv setting to off. This setting as it is now thinks you have an external device connected via the firewire (like a hard drive FS100) so, go into the recording settings on the menu, scroll down to 1394 or dv and turn this setting off.

Panasonic DVX100a Unexpected Shutdown
It sounds like an automatic battery saver function. Regarding the need to return to the menu to select your settings, you can program these into the user file settings, so all you have to do if it powers down again is select your user file. The manual can be found at:
http://service.us.panasonic.com/operman/findmanual.aspx?model=AGDVX100
BTW, aside from the need to save your battery, it is harmful to both your videotape and video head to keep the tape and head engaged onger than two minutes.
