My hp pavilion mx70 is running so slow

The issue can be caused by many many reasons such as outdated hardware, overload startup programs, corrupt registry issues, too many junks, virus attack, poor security software taking too much system resources, remnants of uninstalled applications etc. The fact is, you should keep some system maintenance job regularly. If you don't want to do these manually, try the solution: http://www.speeduphp.com/fix-slow-hp.htmlMeanwhile, upgrading hardware configuration (add RAM, change a new video card, larger-volume HDD etc) can be a fast yet effective way to improve your pc performance. But that won't be the most economical way, as you know you can't always afford to do that.

I have an hp pavilion

First of all you can check the computer by connecting another monitor to it to see if the problem goes away...if so then the problem would be in the monitor. If not , then I would try to change the video grafics card in the computer(assuming you don't have built in video). If you have built in video on the mother board then you will either need to replace the motherboard or disable the onboard video and install a video card

Having the same problem as above. There is a

Press your computer's ON/OFF button, and hold it in until your computer shuts down.
Restart your computer, and repeatedly press F8, to enter "Safe Mode".

Reset your video-adapter to 800 by 600 at 60 Hertz.
Shutdown, and restart.

Then, you can try to increase the resolution to 1024 by 768, and try to change the refresh-rate.

I added memory to my computer, now the monitor

It is going to sleep, after it runs through it's start up. Fixing a monitor is interesting from remote, since neither party can see what is going on. Depending on what computer your have at the top are function keys, in the manual it says which is which usually F1 or perhaps F3 is a sort of emergency set up, actully it interrups before it gets to windows and looks at the "bios" which is the root of technology within the computer. If you can get there tell it with the keyboard what you did with the memory, up/down arrow keys and left /right work to get there. There is a spot concerning memory. Restart, but you might have to do it again in that perhaps the driver (instructions to the computer) have to be upgraded, you should also find this on this same "emergency start up screen" how to get the driver with a key stroke. Also in "memory" there are many things that can go wrong. "pin got bent", "wrong speed first", "pin not set correctly" and "shorted out by static electricity" it will not tell you this one just will not work. Might also try pulling the new and then one at a time the replacing them could be a bad chip, it will go till it fails so if there were 2 and 1 of two is bad, it never gets to 2.

My Gateway Laptop I reload windows xp on it and

Hi,

I suggest that you go to gateways website and download the driver for your video card. It would not function properly without it. If you give me the notebook's graphic card model and manufacturer as well as your notebook's, I can find the driver for you.

MY MONITER CHANGES COLOR AND ITS PISSING ME OFF

One or two of your color guns are failing. On a CRT, there are three color guns, Red, Green, Blue. They work together to produce all colors in the spectrum. If the monitor goes all one color, it generally means at least one color gun is failing. The cost to repair far exceeds the value of the monitor or the price of a new LCD panel.

I cant open the disc loader

Straighten one end of a Norwegian paper-clip, and insert that end into the small hole on the face of the drive, and push until you feel some resistance.
Then, push it another 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch, and the drive-door should "unlock". Then, you can manually slide the tray open.

To replace the crt picture tube will be an expensive exercise as they are not bulbs as such but the entire screen needs to be replaced as they are a complete unit.

Monitor is darker than normal. I have adjusted

Check if adjusting the setting of the video card helps.

go to: start ->settings -> control panel -> system- > ardware -> device manager.

If it does not, have the monitor installed on another computer(preferably with different specs). If it works fine, you may need to update the driver of the card. You need to go to the manufacturer's site to down load it. Some manufacturers lets you download an executable file which you can run to install the driver. If the download is not an executable file, you will have to install the file via the device manager (see steps above) and right click your exiting video card and choose update driver. If an update of the driver did not help, your card may be going bad.

If the monitor does not work on another computer, the ray tube of the monitor may be failing.

Hello,
If too many applications are running in the background memory is reduced. Verify that you let Windows manage the paging memory.

For WINXP
Rigt click My computer on desktop.
Click Properties
Advanced Tab Click on Performance Settings.
Under Visual effects you may ask OS to adjust for best performance Under Tab Advanced make sure that Processor scheduling and Memory usage are set for Programs.
Verify on same tab that virtual memory is about equal to physical memory (or just let windows manage it)

Hope it helps

My color monitor (hp pavilion mx70) is having graphics problems

Need to download correct graphics drivers and then you will be able to change the options. If you already have up to date drivers then you need to Right Click on desktop and select properties and then click on the Settings Tab and change it from 16 color to Highest (32 bit). Oh, go to manufacturers web site to download drivers.

Monitor won't come on right away

Sounds like the CRT is starting to go bad cause its taking longer and longer for it to boot up. CRT's aren't available now so a new monitor would be the only option.
