Did you insert new or refilled cartridges? Some printers will not recognize refilled cartridges.

5. Test by printing the "Print Quality Check Sheet":

- Note: If still a problem, repeat 4 more times. After each cleaning, print the Print Quality Check Sheet to see if there is any improvement.

Unable to change. 4F

Hi there
With some Brother printers you can try this.

Access the internal maintenance mode by pressing the Menu/Set button, then press * 2 8 6 4 within 2 seconds. This should put you in the maintenance mode menu. Enter 80, and then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.

This will reset the purge count value. Then the printer will restart, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

Some times this happens because of using cheap compatible ink cartridges if this is the case change the ink cartridges.

Here a dial tone, machine dials number, then hear

tnbdesigns,
The number that you are calling is no good. You can test your own fax machine by calling a number for you , like your cell. The voice that you are hearing is the automatic telephone company voice telling you that the number is bad.

How to change ink cartridge

There should be a Lid you can lift up (where the paper comes out after being printed on) and when you lift that up you will see the ink cartridge move to the middle, Where you can push the open switch and replace the ink catridge. After the ink is replaced, lock the ink cartridge holder, and close the lid. You then should be ready to print.

Hope this helps ^^. Please don't forget to rate, Thanks

LCD says Unable to print see troubleshooting and

Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there

UNABLE TO INIT. How to fix the mechanical problem?

If there is no jam it is generally a mechanical issue such as...

1. The planetary arm assembly not engaged correctly
2. Ink cartridge/purge switch harness not connected correctly
3. Purge cam switch broken
4. Gear(s) on maintenance unit broken
5. Paper feed motor broken
6. Main PCB defective

I find that if there was a paper jam, and the user pulled the paper out, option 4 is most likely. It is the smallest of cracks but ruins everything!

You will need to contact your local ASC for repair, find it here.

I replaced my ink cartidges and now it wont print

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!! That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc.

These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

This is the only advice I can give you. If you find this helpful, pls rate me.

Thanks and Good Luck :0)

Hi
Has it been standing for a long time with out ink if it has then I think myself the head on it is blocked or some times it will take over night for the ink to work, but if the head blocked you need to get at the head to clean it some times if you get a cloth with a little worm water and dabbing it till it clean it will then work.

What is cyan ink

It must be referring to the cyan color cartridge.

"Cyan" refers to the blue-green color cartridge.

Most printers have either 2 cartridges (black and multicolor), or 4 cartridges( black, magenta, yellow, and cyan).

See here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyan

Hope this helps.
