How do I remove the control panel?
Figured it out. There are three screws under the lid. One of them is tough to get at, but if you remove the lid support and the phone rest the lid will open to 90 degrees. At that point the top just pulls away from the base unit. You may have to unsnap the small cover where the wires pass from the base to the top unit so you can pull enough slack in the wires to pull the top off the hinges. Once that's done removing the last screw is easy.
After the screws are out, prying around the edges of the panel unsnaps the remaining retainers and pops it right off.
The problem in our unit ended up being corrosion in the circuit area of the board. I cleaned up the corrosion and found one trace that was broken. I soldered a jumper around the broken trace. The broken trace was preventing 4 of the buttons from functioning. Once the jumper was in place all the buttons started working.
Back in business.

Unable to clean print heads
Unplug the printer from power cord.Press and hold the "menu" button, then plug the device. You'll see on the LCD screen a "machine error" code.If this code is 40,41,49 or 4F the print head is defective. If the error is 48 - defective print head cable or circuit board. If the error is 50 or 51 there is error in Purge unit and printer require service. If the error is 46 the waste ink tank is full.Follow this:
Enter 80, then scroll down with the arrow down (round) key. You'll find an entry listed as purge count. If number is over 6000, enter 2 7 8 3.This will reset the purge count value. Then restart the printer, hopefully without the annoying cannot clean message.

Mfc 640cw has a message unable to clean
This usually means the cartridge itself has developed a problem.Try removing the cartridge and wiping the print head of the with a clean non-lint rag and alcohol. Then replace the cartridge, sith the printer off if possible. Turn on printer and attempt to have the printer software clean the head again. If negative you may need to replace the cartridge but use an OEM recommended cartridge replacement. After market brands tend to create more issues. My name is Ed Pinero I am a 10 year veteran in IT and a field service technician.

I have two computers that
Had a similar situation with an HP all-in-one. Final solution was to reinstall the OS. If it EVER worked, you can check and see of you have a restore point for a time where it did work and try that.
