there is a reset switch on bottom of unit a small hole that you need to insert a paperclip or pin in and hold for 20 to 30 seconds that may work

settings/userdelete and leave blank every page, just click done and restart

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

1. Check that the battery is charged properly. Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.
2. Remove the SD card If your device uses an SD card, remove it.
3. Reset your device. Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for at least 20 seconds. The reset button is a hole at the base/bottom of the device.
4. Turn your device on. Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds or more, until the GPS starts up. It may take a minute or two of holding it down.
5. Insert the SD card If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

Try to do a "Boot" .... by pressing and holding down the ON/OFF button for 5 seconds (or a lot more) until the device powers on again. Yes, at times, it may take a minute or more ! of holding that button down.

It may be likely that the TF (SD) card is not being read properly or has been damaged/corrupted. Try to read that SD card on your computer (i.e. not using the GPS) ... and see if it works. And/or use the Properties - Tool - Check Disks tool to "recover/fix" the SD card (on your PC).

I solved this problem by finding an answer on the Tom Tom website. Using a paper clip end insert it on the reset button and press for at least 10 seconds. The reset button is difficult to find; it's located close to the connector at the base of the unit. It is an annoying problem as it happens without any rhyme or reason. I now carry a paper clip in the car!

I have exactly the same problem. Everything worked fine until I did a software upgrade. I have tried the reset suggestion but it has not fixed the problem. I have been told that a possible solution is to install the version of the OS that was there prior to the upgrade but I cannot find this anywhere
