Can't lower handle on Hoover wind tunnel vac U6432-900

Anne, Do you mean that when you depress the pedal on the left side of the machine body that you can't get the upper portion to release into a lower mode? Or are you fully depressing the pedal?? As for the switch for the self propelled mode, that's actually just a small button that you move around in the slot of the handle to select which mode you want to use. It's not actually a switch. If you are fully depressing the handle release pedal and it's not releasing, you should take it to the store where you purchased it, if it was a vacuum store. If you bought it at a big box store, then you'll need to take it to some repair shop that does warranty work, if it's within the warranty period of course.

Hoover bagged wind tunnel 2 vacuum turns its self

There is a thermal sensor in the motor which shuts power off if it gets too hot but usually it won't turn back on until it cools down. It seems you might have a defective switch

I need to replace the belt. Have the belt and the

This unit has 2 belts. The V-belt on the brush usually doesn't cause problems. The larger flat belt requires regular replacement ( belt # 38528-035 ). The belt is first placed around the motor shaft toward the rear of the machine, and then around the large pulley. You must have strong fingers to stretch the belt over the drive pulley. Start the belt at the top of the pulley, and try to "roll " it around the pulley a little at a time, holding the belt firmly around the pulley as you go.

Belt tension adjustment

If you are looking at the belt while the vacuum is in the upright and locked position, the belt will be loose. The idler removes tension so the brush doesn't spin while you walk away and put heat marks in the carpet. Hit the lever that allows you to move the handle low, like you are vacuuming under the bed, and the belt gets tight.

Hoover bagless keep shutting off after about 5

Your hoover has a thermal protector that shuts power to the motor off for 30 mminutes if it trips. Tripping of the thermal protector it typically caused by an obstruction of some sort, there are several locations to check. First, remove the bagless filter and look for a rectangular plastic object centered under where the canister was. This "final fillter" is often overlooked and can be washed in your kitchen sink. Let dry completely before using. Other things to look at are on the big plastic filter inside the canister, make sure the holes arent clogged with dirt, this also can be washed in your sink. Of course check the lines from just behind the brush all the way to the filter for clogs. If all else fails, take it and your warranty if still good to an authorized service center to have it serviced... I've noticed on this model, if the thermal protector trips too many times, it seeems to be more prone to trip to the point that it doesn't matter if theres a clog or not anymore. This is how I found out about this problem, as I work for a hotel using these (and these are not designed to be commercial grade). They cost like $50 to service this $80 vaccume so, being that the warranty was void for using them commercially, and the cost of the servicing, I simply bypassed the thermal protector and make it a point to completely clean them 1-2 times a weeek till we can get a more commercial model.
