Meade DS-2130ATS (250 x 127mm) Telescope - Answered Questions & Fixed issues

How do you know it is magnetized? Never heard of any telescope developing this issue during the last 30 YEARS!

What exactly is the scope doing wrong? describe the problem.

You do not need a diagonal with a reflector style telescope. Just put the eyepiece into the focuser.

you can try moving the tube back from center a bit, rotating it also helps. The tube has become magnetized

I had this problem too. You need to go into the "red dot finder" menu each time and just go into each option and confirm the blink intensity, etc. After I do this, it turns on.

ds-2000 refers to the model line of the scope. ds-2130 the 130 refers to the diameter of the objective lens in mm. I have a ds-2114. Where the objective lens is 114 mm in diameter. as far as the manual goes everything else should be the same.

You may need to buy a generic focuser, if you cannot get a replacement from Meade service;

I actually have the same series as you and I am missing a cord its the aux cord it says and its the shape as a land line phone outlet just bigger but I looked at my local Kmart,radio shak They looked at me like I was crazy lol

There is a hole in the side with turn wheels to adjust focusing, that is where you should plug in your viewing lens.

Is repair cost effective after all these years?
