Have Olevia 237T with same problem. Bought Universal URC-R6 remote control. Works for TV, cable box and audio system as well. $20 at BestBuy.

To my knowledge nothing but the original remote will function on that set.

You have to search for the channels. Go to your setup menu, and go to setup, then select TV, then do auto channel search. It may or may not have to be set on tuner to get to the TV options.

You get invalid format, or format not support becuase the video resolution setting on your PC is too high for the monitor to display, you need to lower your PC video resolution to the native resolution of the TV to get the best picture. Look at the owner manual for your TV or search the web.

Its called closed captions and the set has it built into it---look for captions in the set menu and turn it off with the remote--NOTE: MANY CABLE OR SAT BOXES ALSO HAVE THE CAPTIONS IN THEM-it can come from either the set itself or from a box connected to it for signal.

Google the model number of the remote for a "manual" which will have instructions Keep in mind not all remotes will even program for all sets.

It may be possible but the best way to find out is contact Olevia and talk to the customer service department.

I just wrestled with this problem. The screws were backed all the way out but I could not remove the stand. I had to remove the screws completely from the holes, then the stand can be pulled down then off.

my olevia a 232 s12 2nd hand tv . gift from a relative wont power on .just had the blue light on.i was able to reset my 32 inch olevia by pressing and holding down the power button much like a computer to reboot.might work for you.

If you are on a cable or dish box, check aspect setting from you box, TV needs to be 16-9 or full, set TV first then change setting on box.

Try covering it up with a small piece of black electrical tape.
